Pros: The SmartQ 7 are very useful MID Internet Tablet, stable in work.
Built-in Open-source Linux Operating System Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala for ARM11 architecture. This is the latest version, released in October of 2009.
Connects easily to Internet via built-in WiFi or via SKU.16158 USB 2.0 100Mbps Ethernet/LAN Network Adapter(tested, work perfect).
Also you can connect many 3G UMTS(W-CDMA), CDMA2000(EV-DO) USB modems or 3G phones(tested my old Nokia E60 WCDMA 2100).
It has a good 4500mAH built-in Li-poly battery, I already forgot when I charged it :) The batteries last a really long time.
Display is bright and well readable. Big screen, very comfortable for one with not so tiny little fingers. Touchscreen is useful and sensitive.
Support SDHC SD card (tested Transcend SDHC 16GB TS16GSDHC6 and KINGMAX microSDHC 8GB Class6 with an adapter).
The music playback was excellent when you put on a good high end Headsets. Built-in stereo loudspeaker is pretty loud.
Good quality plastic casing.

Cons: There are quite a few cons, though most of them are minor.
Battery indicator is useless.
Not all programs run in full screen mode (in full screen runs only web browser Midori and FBReader).
I get some crashes in Midori. When loading some websites, it will close without an error, just exit.
There is no flash so you cannot watch videos on youtube, but you can download videos from youtube and play them back on the player.
SmartQ 7 power on and start load OS if you plug in charger.
No case to carry around. I would buy a case that looks like SKU.8700 Black Waist Bag for PSP.

Other Thoughts: Desktop Environment-LXDE, File Manager-PCMan File Manager, Sound&Video players-Sonata and SMPlayer, Instant messenger-Pidgin support XMPP(Jabber, Google Talk), Office-AbiWord.
I have installed mc, htop, conky, dosfstool, gFTP, ssh, rdesktop. It works perfect and stable.
You can boot from the external SD card alternative OS (Android, WinCE, Chronolytics Ubuntu based firmware).
If you have some computer and Linux knowledge you can improve SmartQ with many different features and applications.
If you know how to set it up correctly, it will do everything you need.
Out of the box, an "normal" user would not be very impressed.
Although "out of the box" applications is enough for most tasks.
But I think the SmartQ 7 is not for people who have no idea about computers and *nix console.

Bottomline: Overall, I'm very satisfied with my SmartQ 7.
The resolution of the ebook reader was excellent and easy to read. The Jpgs are excellent. The sound is excellent.
The web browser "Midori" is excellent. You can surf the web and check emails.
Excellent device, good quality, all accessories, nice features.
This is a good buy! If you want a multifunctional MID device for a good price, give a try. For the price, you're getting a great deal!
