Pros: From technical point of view it's working... Solar charged, 600mAh (not like on other people pictures 1Ah) NiCD battery. Produces sound, that I (and my friends) can easily hear.
Cons: It's simply not working. Mosquitoes don't care about it - some of them where even seating on turned on device (maybe you should put it far away to lure them ;) not to repel). I'v tested device few times, near the lakes in Poland - perhaps it works on some other mosquitoes - not Polish one ;) ).
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: Well, it simply does not work - what to say more - don't by it...
Pros: This Solar Powered Electronic Mosquito Repeller ships in a nice, retail package in a static protection bag and includes a manufacturer warranty card. My item shipped in blue color, which I prefer to red.
Cons: The electronic buzzing noise can be heard by human ears and is a little bit irritating. I plan to use this item outside on a porch, rather than inside of my house, so I hope the buzzing noise isn't an issue.
Other Thoughts: I had this item on my DealExtreme wishlist since the summertime, and it finally came back in stock in December which is wintertime in my part of the world. Therefore, I haven't been able to fully test this item yet and hope to write a follow-up report in a few months when the mosquitoes return.
Bottomline: I like the concept of solar powered items as they are better for the environment if you use them enough. However, I hope the manufacturer will choose a more environmentally friendly battery in the future.
Pros: I like the idea of a solar powered mosquito repeller and not have to replace the bateries. Came with the battery charged and ready to work straight out of the box.
Cons: Like others have said, the speaker is on the bottom, I opened mine up (simple 2 screws) and moved it up to the hole, much louder and more effective.
Other Thoughts: The unit i received was blue in colour, unlike the photo. The on/off switch could be in a better place (on the top maybe). Would be nice to see an auto on/off function like solar do.
Bottomline: Seems to work, great price, just needs a little modification.
Pros: - It's solar powered, so you don't have to worry about changing batteries. Let it with the solar sensor facing to a window. No need to put it directly receiving sunlight.
Cons: - The recharging battery is a Ni-CD one. This kind of batteries are obsolete and even worse: THEY ARE VERY ENVIRONMENT UNFRIENDLY. They contain cadmium, a toxic metal, so be sure to recycle them when they became useless.- Internal bad quality build.
Other Thoughts: - Mine is red color.
Bottomline: - I'm not sure if they work well as a mosquito repeller.
