Pros: This tripod stereo speaker is portable, small and really light-weight. Uses 2 x AAA batteries, rechargeable ones recommended for longer play-time. It has an On/Off switch. A blue led is lit when it is in operation.
Cons: There are 3 legs, 2 speakers. The build quality is not good. It seems it is going to break when extending. The amplifier is weak, so expect to hear this from a close range. When the speaker is switched on, it makes a static, I could not find a workaround, I think it is caused by the built-in amplifier. The jack may cause some players not to function properly. Had it been made a bit higher on the stand, there would be no issues.
Other Thoughts: I purchased this speaker with SKU 1452. They work well together.
Bottomline: This is a cheap speaker. Don't expect many things and it may satisfy you.
Pros: Portable and light-weight. Quite small and easy to carry around when the speakers are folded in. Do not have to look for a power source (uses batteries)
Cons: Battery-powered (2 AAAs) which means you need to have batteries on hand. The plastic seems a bit flimsy and easy to break. The speakers are not very loud.
Bottomline: This is a light-weight, portable speaker which can be folded outwards to create a stand for the mp3/ipod you have. Most of the pros (battery-powered, light-weight) are also the cons (cannot be charged or played via usb, the plastic feels a bit cheap). Overall its a good speaker if you want to play your mp3 on your desk or by your bedside. It's not very loud so don't expect the sound to fill up a room. It requires 2 AAA batteries, so it's probably better to use rechargeable ones. In my opinion, it looks better than it plays but for the price, its hard to beat. One more note, the picture shows the speaker being folded out to the maximum..meaning your mp3 player will be quite tall (supported by the speaker stand). Also one more thing, I had a mp3 player which had a buckle by the headphone jack. It made it difficult to attach the speaker onto it because the speaker jack is quite large. I had to remove the buckle to attach to it. If your headphone jack is close to any buttons or lines, it might be hard to attach the speaker onto it.
