Pros: -helps protect the camera lense from and scratches or finger prints.. of course you havee to make an effort not to drop or touch the lens-looks pro-haven't tested it yet so will do when i get a chance to and see if it really blocks out some sun rays..
Cons: -product images on this website is quite misleading. i thought i was getting the pedal shaped lens hood. unfortunately that's not what i got and i got the circular one..
Other Thoughts: please chance the product images. it's misleading
Bottomline: not sure if i want fight with DX on this one, price of sending it back and the lens is cheaper than buying the canon branded ones
Pros: Fits the IS 18-55 lens that came in the 400D twin IS lens kit well.Quite small ( I suppose it has to be for the wide angle end) so fits in camere bag without having to reverse it on lens.Good solid fit
Cons: Slightly flexible. Has "Made for Canon" on it so everyone knows its not a Canon original.Difficult to apply without turning focus ring ( Turn off AF first to avoid damage to focus motor)Pictures do not represent this actual hood
Other Thoughts: Seems same size as Canon original, so should function as intendedWhy oh why don't canon include these with their lenses. It is not as if they are cheap glass!
Bottomline: Considerable saving
Pros: Fits as described
Cons: Not as shown in individual photos Packet photo is correct, better described as 15mm deep 58mm Bayonet mount
Bottomline: Good value if you know what you are getting
