Pros: This is a wonderful little item to carry around in the car. It is a dual use item that can be used to charge AAA batteries using a usb port or can be used to charge other items using the port built in.It can easily charge most items that require a usb port.It also includes a small flashlight for emergency use
Cons: It overheats the batteries while charging. The auto off doesn't work. Also, it cannot charge the iphone 3g and the ipod nano video. The off switch is a bit difficult to move and gets stuck easily.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: Buy this item. At this price, it's a must have
Pros: CHEAP!Nice build quality. It not only powers stuff but charges AAA nimh batteries too!
Cons: As other reviewers have said, the switch seems to be a little sticky.charging through USB take a long time
Other Thoughts: great for an emergency power boast for devices that use USB power. I use it for my ipod and my cell phone all the time, it's great.
Bottomline: this thing does it all, charges powers, and has a LED flashlight!i wish they had a AA version, because when using with an MP4 player on a plane 4 AAA doesnt last that long. if dealextreme could get a 4 AA version, i would buy one for sure, and im sure others would too!
Pros: -All in one charger and backup power pack.-Charging 2 color indicator light around the usb port.(red = charging, blue= completed charging)-Gives my psp slim 3hours more of gametime@333mhz from four powertech AAA 900mah batteries.
Cons: None. This product is top class.
Other Thoughts: I wouldnt recommend using 4 AAA disposable batteries in this unit to charge usb stuff like an ipod, because that will be 6V, instead of the 5V from AAA rechargables. Use 4x NiMH =5V to be on the safe side. Other reviewers mention the switch on this a little dodgy, Ive found it to be a tiny bit fiddly to use, the switch itself is just long thats all.
Bottomline: Get this and add a usb multi end tips cable, a usb wall power adapter, and another 1-2 sets of AAA batts and you will have the perfect power solution to all your needs. Its more flexible to use than a expensive xxxxx mah battery brick+tips.
Pros: Good, solid construction, good concept, small size, semi-bright LED.
Cons: No voltage regulation (even though it doesn't really matter for my usage), crappy battery life (as expected from AAA's), the Use/Charge/Off switch as tricky.
Bottomline: Good enough for the money. Nothing much better out right now, so i'd recommend getting it.
