Pros: - Good throw and nice beam, much better than any of my MCE or P7 based lights.- Has a high build quality and an adequate amount of thermal grease under the led star.- Its emitter is well centered in the reflector which gives a nice and even beam.- The tint of the light is a pure cold daylight white (I would estimate it to be around 6000-6500K)
Cons: - Empties your batteries quite fast on high mode.- Its five mode UI can be annoying sometimes.- The battery polarity sticker on the inside of the battery tube is the wrong way around. The positive pole goes toward the head of the light, as usual.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: Good SST-50 based light with lots of throw that has a nice tint and an almost artifact free beam.
Pros: The outside hull is the same as with the Eastward YJ-XGRR (SKU 17382).Workmanship and finish is excellent. The light is very bright. The throw is better than my Olight M20 with smooth reflector and about equal compared to the Eastward. However the beam is much wider lighting up a considerably larger area.It is also brigher than my Aurora P7 light. The modes high-medium-low are very well chosen (similar to the Olight M20)with a real low well suited for close-up work or indoor purposes. The mode memory also works fine. Despite its power the light still has a compact and handy size.
Cons: The price is still a bid high compared to P7 or MC-E lights. The alignment of the LED chip could be improved. I had to unscrew the LED plate and realign it to get the LED perfectly centered within the reflector.
Other Thoughts: For me the light would be even better with only 3 modes leaving the Strobe and SOS out.
Bottomline: I can really recommend the light to someone who wants a very bright and practical light. With a somewhat better alignment of the LED I would even give it a 5 star rating.
