Pros: - sounds promising and actually worked for some ranges- price is good- concept is good
Cons: - lot of false alarms- problems connecting between the items- you can never know if there is a problem in the battery or the range
Other Thoughts: I bought is for my wife to help her NOT to forget her cell phone (as she always keep forgetting it...)I found it hard to connect between the units. It made a lot of false alarms (because of the range and maybe the battery despite the fact I used fresh ones..), and we ended up not using it at all, because it kept alarming.I think that the concept is very clear, but should overcome some range (SNR) issues and improve the interface to the user...
Bottomline: not as good as it sounds...
Pros: - Could possibly alert you to leaving something like your laptop behind on a bus, train or in a public place.- Beeps, flashes and vibrates when out of ranges of transmitter.- Helps you find the lost item again (although it wouldnt be easy to track a thief). - Fun to have.
Cons: - Build quality isnt great.- The range is less then expected.- Theres no "only vibrate" feature.- The transmitter always has a light flashing.
Other Thoughts: Could prevent theft or loss of property.
Bottomline: Not too expensive and could save a lot if it stopped you losing something.
Pros: Tested to about 75 ft in range (adjustable). You can make it go off at 1 ft if you like.
Cons: Mine didn't work in alarm mode at first. I took it apart and fiddled and it just started working on its own. The loop is NOT for tying it to things. It is actually the antenna wire and not very strong. Receiver is not as well constructed as SKU6283. Bulky, cheap plastic.
Other Thoughts: Putting the transmitter in a wallet (too big actually) won't stop a pickpocket. You'll get an alarm that it's gone but you're not going to be able to find him in a crowd or anything. The receiver in a purse might help because your purse would beep. Maybe put the transmitter in your luggage, lower the range on the receiver to 5 ft and let it tell you when it comes by the carousel? All sorts of minor uses.
Bottomline: Probably best for putting on something you don't want to forget to pick up, like your laptop case.
Pros: -Works as said.-Search and Near function.-Search function: Beeps when close, can be adjusted to beep when further or closer to transmiter.-Near Function: Beeps when the transmitter becomes out of range or a distance which it can be adjusted to.-Receiver is sturdy.
Cons: -The wire strap on the transmitter broke, It needs to be soldered back onto the PCB, It works also as a aerial.
Other Thoughts: I don't think this is a reliable use for keeping track of children or pickpockets. The pickpocketer would steal your wallet or bag, then the receiver on you will beep, drawing attention to you not the theif. could work depending how sensitive you have it set.
Bottomline: Good to experiment with, or for things around the house. (Used it on my phone, always lose it at home)
