Pros: Very bright. 1 AA! I use recharg. AAs- work great. Substantial aluminum throughout. Nice shape. Alum. OP reflector, glass lens. Can be completely disassembled - no glue etc. Has a throw. Easy to mod.
Cons: I don't think so. For this price this thing is next to perfect))O'K, my came with a little blue accent over snow white. It gives a bit of "xenon arc lamp" temperature, so I guess it is less than 5000K. Not a big deal, but noticable.
Other Thoughts: I'm thinking to order another one pretty soon.
Bottomline: How shall I put it? It is a DEAL.VERY decent flash light for the price. Recommended.
Pros: Just got my (2) new lights today. Pulled one apart and installed a Q5, MAN what a difference! Great cheap little light that will shock you with it's brightness. The original LED was kinda greenish so if you are bored and have some thermal epoxy sitting around, buy a Q5 along with one of these and reflow it onto the board using your stove burner. Piece of cake and a cheap upgrade for this light.
Cons: None at all except the old-stock Cree LED's. Everyone is using Q5's now.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: Get a whole lot of them so you can experiment on them!
Pros: Really brightRelatively inexpensive for brightnessUses commonly available batteryCompactCase construction is fairly well designed, all metal"Forward clicky" switch so you can flash codes with it, or turn on for short periods of time
Cons: The one I got was pretty loose internally (had to manually tighten them together). It sometimes fails to light up requiring some twisting of the screwed-together parts. The lamp/driver pill is soldered together, so I can't see if there's anything loose internally. An almost dead NiCd battery makes the flashlight behave very strangely, sometimes won't light up then later it will light up fine (and then dim slightly).
Other Thoughts: I'll need to take apart the lamp/driver pill to make myself an expert first :-)
Bottomline: Pretty good. Other than the possible internal connection issues and the partially loosened parts internally, it works fairly well.
Pros: I do love these flashlights. For the price, I don't think you can get a brighter one that runs on 1 AA battery. This thing really impresses people and makes a great gift.
Cons: I've had sketchy results with these as far as functioning. Out of the last purchase of three, one worked fine out of the box. The second worked only after some fiddling around. The third seemed to be dead on arrival. I'm still trying to revive it.
Other Thoughts: If you get one of these that works well, you will absolutely love it. It's BRIGHT and it's just a really nice size, so it feels good in your hand. Nice handle, too.
Bottomline: This is a terrific deal and worth the effort to get a good one.
