Pros: Wiikey works great with me Gamecube. I had previously soldered one myself from Gamecube memorycard and SD adapter, but this looks much nicer and is a much cheaper than soldering self. Build quality is fine for me.
Cons: Color could be black to match better my Gamecube (which is black). Not really other cons :-)
Other Thoughts: I don't know about Wii compatibility, but regarding to other reviewers it should work fine.
Bottomline: For this price this is the best buy if you want to run homebrew or backups with sdboot. Just buy this and use regular sd card with it
Pros: Very, very cheaper. I'm from Brazil - i think that there's not a similar product for sale here.Build quality, the product looks good
Cons: nothing...Dont buy this thinking this act as a memory card for Wii or Game Cube using a SD card.
Other Thoughts: If you know for what is this just buy. There's another cheaper here in DX, but i think this are better qualitty materials.
Bottomline: THIS WONT WORK AS A GAME CUBE MEMORY CARD. If you want a Game Cube or Wii memory card this will be usefulness for you. Here in DX have cheaper Wii or Game Cube memory cards, just search.
Pros: Beats the heck out of soldering in a Wiikey. Can't say I was eager to crack the case on my wii, but glad to have some of the functionality I wanted. I still wonder about how this compares to the stand-alone solder-in wiikey....
Cons: Limited functionality. Does NOT work as a standard SD card in the Wii, (so no photos, or music, videos etc....) Build Quality is ok... didn't quite fit perfectly but still worked when inserted (caused no damage)
Other Thoughts: Since purchasing the solder-in version is a little complicated depending on where you live, this is a great alternative to voiding your warranty, but not the full functionality I was hoping for.
Bottomline: Worth purchase price, but not much more.
Pros: - Perfectly for doing backups of your precious Wii original games- Fits very good into the GC memoryunit slot- The case is well manufactured- Tried with different SDcards (Normal SD and smaller formfactors with adaptors): No problem
Cons: - Doesn't work as GC memory unit (but that was already clear)- No more cons.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: This piece of hardware is really recommendable and works flawlessly. And for this price this is definately a must-have. For doing backups you can use the sdbackup scripts and bat files included in the WiiKey setupdisc (1.2 for e.g.).
