Pros: IT WORKS...but of course that's a pro. Another purchase for my GF. She gets shocked all the time at work, and carries this with her. After the first day she was so happy, "I didn't get zapped at all" She was super happy with this purchase
Cons: I'm still not sure what icon means what. I don't use it though, so I don't really care. She knows how to use it, and keeps it with here every day.
Other Thoughts: It's small and can fit on a key-chain really easy, simple to use and it's handy in what it does.
Bottomline: Anyone working in a high static environment would benefit from this, It's different from a normal wrist strap, and yet almost quite as handy.
Pros: I spend a lot of time working in a Datacenter, under controller humidity and temperature condition. Getting static is a norm, and having to tied myself up to one of those anti-static strip is a *arghhhhhh*With this tiny gadget I tied it together in my ID tag's chain.. I can approach equipment with less worry. Of course... stick to anti-static straps during handling of circuit boards.. but I make it a point to "zap" myself before I touch anything without a strap in reach.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: if only it can be slight smaller... maybe at around 0.5 inch long.. :-)Still impressed by the small amount of static can drive the LCD screen....
Bottomline: Handy tool for IT engineers.
Pros: This actually takes off the guestwork if you really have discharged yourself of static when you want to handle your electronic components (like VGA Cards, mobos, RAM, etc.). I usually just touch the metal frame or powersupply of my PC, then after a moment, pray and touch my components (hoping that I am fully discharge).
Cons: It feels cheap that I fear if I drop it, put weight on it, it'll break instantly.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: If you really want to make sure you are discharged of static electricity and don't want to fry your components then you absolutely need this. A cheap indicator rather than sacrifice an expensive component of your computer.
Pros: I build new pcs all day, get static from the new cases, drives me nuts, since i have it, i just touch the case with it, no more zaps.. i hook it back up to my workbench via plastic hook.Im zap free.............
Cons: none...does the jobface (lcd) could be bigger) ...
Other Thoughts: on my next order im gettng more....a pen version would be good/or combo knife/ static remover) cut the case open and then remove the static?
Bottomline: you know it its work as the face lights up (hair), be good if it had a buzzer? version 2 maybe?
