Pros: Easy to set up if you're happy to manually do each button.Easy to switch between different devices. No problems with dodgy buttons or the display.
Cons: Build quality is pretty average. Doesn't look very impressive, but after fairly long term ownership, still working fine.
Other Thoughts: Didn't bother with the auto set up (Actually I did initially but gave up), just ended up manually setting up each button to my needs. Works great across the tv, reciever and set top box.
Bottomline: Cheap universal remote that is actually reasonably good.
Pros: It is able to control my TV and with its learning function, also control my RM Player ... the backlight is really useful at night ... user manual is in English which is great ... but the programming steps are kind of errrr troublesome, though it will work great after programming ...
Cons: Built quality is not excellent, the 2 LEDs are not placed and soldered properly, one taller than the other ... the top 3 buttons are silver in color and the words on it aren't clear ... although the specifications says the range is at least 8 feet, the angle of the range seems to be quite small ... got to point the remote controller directly to the receiver in order for the receiver to get the signal ...
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: Great product at this price ... can't ask for more at this super price ...
Pros: -The price is good to a device with LCD and macro functions. -It has a nice set of built-in codes that fit almost every home appliance. -The LCD has backlight but remote power it of to save battery if no key pressed for some seconds. -Macro functions can be executed at a specific hour. -Excellent learn function. -Simple to use basic functions -Manual on many languages
Cons: -LCD has pre-defined appliance names (TV, VCR, SAT, DVD, CD and A/C). It could be better to rename a page, ie. VCR, to something like "Home Theater" (or for short, Theater) since we don't have VCR anymore. -There are only 4 macro key -Automatic search code is terrible, the best way is to enter codes manually or by learn function -Macro programming instructions is confuse.
Other Thoughts: -It is not big -My Echostar Satellite receiver was not well fit on any Echostar predefined codes but learn functions did its job (I think this is not a remote issue but a customized control settings made by DTH carrier).
Bottomline: All my remote controls (5 at all) are now retired 8)
Pros: - It has a normal LCD screen - It attracts your guests attention 8)- It has MACROS (the main reason of buying this remote) - This remote has many many pre-sets (or it's codes) for many devices. (I tested it with 3 Sony TV, 1 LG DVD, 1 Samsung DVD, Sony VCR, LG VCR)- It isn't big (i like it)- It replaces a bunch of other (default) remotes. So now i have a tidy night table with 1 remote
Cons: - Hard to use at first (i mean macros)
Other Thoughts: - nothing special probably, 3 AAA batteries are too many for a common remote.. but oh, well. IT works.
Bottomline: I bought it for self. Some friends of mine bug me to buy at DX some more for them.... doh
