Pros: Perfectly fitt to PAR16, good effinency for this price
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: fitts for ssc, luxeon, and similar housing leds
Bottomline: Best price
Pros: Cheap, tri-reflector. Fits into a MagC but may need adjustment to the height - I had to add a copper coil below the heat sink. More convenient than 3 separate reflectors.
Cons: Does not give a nicely-focussed hotspot for Crees. Need to cut off some of the plastic legs. May work better with SSCs.
Bottomline: Better to get 3 separate reflectors if you want a nice hotspot without ugly rings.
Pros: These are cheap and have the footprint of the original ones. Fits Luxeon I/III/V and probably the mechanically compatible SSC.
Cons: Not collimating the light well, instead letting it slip out to the side. Performs pretty much like a concave lens.
Other Thoughts: Looking at these collimators from the front, they are not exactly what you would expect, but 3 hollow cavities of around 13mm depth. At the bottom of each cavity there's a convex lens. The optical performance is the one of a convex lens (chip image), assuming the LED is in the focal point. Mechanically, it's made in a way that Luxeon I/III/V fit nicely and are a bit out of focus, so this produces a smooth, very wide and diffused "beam" with lots of light refracted out the side through the white plastic holder (which is not good because it should go out the front as it does with the original part). The part has not been made to accommodate a Cree Q5, but it can be put when cutting some of the plastic guides at the bottom of the white holder. You get a slightly more focused beam, still a lot of light escaping out the side of the unit with a rather dim result.
Bottomline: Unlike the original part of a well-known manufacturer, this is a cheap look-alike that wastes the precious lumens of your LED. It is much better go for some of the metal reflectors offered on this site.
Pros: 3 Reflectors all built together. Easier to use than just using 3 loose reflectors.
Cons: The beam is very wide, wider than I would want, almost spot light wide.
Other Thoughts: I tried using the 3 x 3w leds but it works a lot better with 3 ssc leds.
Bottomline: This reflector needs very bright LEDs to make the wide beam worth while.
