Pros: For those of you who cannot quit smoking, DX has these very nice filters available at a good price. These filters do a mighty fine job of blocking a lot of the gunk present in the cigarette smoke. Each filter lasts for ~6 mild cigarettes, and is very easy to use. You just have to put the cigarette in the filter and smoke through it.Also, there are other filters also available at DX which look much better than this one.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Buy them if you smoke or if you know anyone who smokes.
Bottomline: Good quality, great price !
Pros: - You can see it turning black over time, which is a sign that it's working. As to whether it's filtering out toxins, who knows.- Easy to use and dispose of when you're finished.
Cons: - Have to pull harder when taking a drag.- Plastic --> Do you really know the chemical trade-off that's taking place in your lungs? You could be exchanging tar for a nice chemical sandwich of PVC and dioxins in your lungs. I don't have a lab in my basement- I used it with an unfiltered cigarillo, which was cool for a while, but then as the cigarillo went down to the bottom it started to melt the plastic... so naturally I stopped smoking right away.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: It's only really useful for standard cigarettes. I thought I would use it for an unfiltered cigarillo, but you have to stop smoking right as it gets to the tip of the filter or you start inhaling plastic.
Pros: At first I thought it would rob flavor from my favorite brand but it was like there was no filter at all...you can visibly see al the toxins being trapped in the transparent part of the tube.
Cons: Good for only about 10-12 cigarettes, then dispose. Buy in larger quantities if you plan to constantly use them.
Other Thoughts: This costs less than half of other competitive filters...Well worth trying it out.I'm not a scientise so I do not know exacly how much tar and nicotine it extracts, but way the middle filter blackens so quickly, I'd imagine it is a very significant amount...with no loss of flavor.
Bottomline: For the $$$, at least try it.
