Pros: Great PCI card, allows you to add extra SATA ports onto your PC and use them for HDDs, and other things. I personally use this card for the Xbox 360, works perfect to flash iXtreme to any drive.
Cons: The SATA port on the back did not work when I got it. Also when I put the card in my PC my PC wouldn't boot at first! I had to flash the bios and then update the BIOS before this card was recognized. I didn't install any drivers and still works great.
Other Thoughts: Only tested on 32-bit XP, but ordered a second and will install it into my other PC running a triple boot of 64-Bit Vista, 64-Bit XP and Windows 7
Bottomline: Excellent card!
Pros: This pci card is perfect for flashing xbox 360 dvd, liteon included.Great if you don't have an internal sata controller or your internal one isn't the right chipset. The price is very good. The card has one external sata connecter and two internal sata connectors, what is very handy.
Cons: Can't find any negative about this product.
Other Thoughts: I don't have any problems installing this pci card on windows xp (with the cd) or with windows xp mediacenter2005 or with windows vista, the last one doesn't even need drivers. Didn't have a chance to test windows 7.
Bottomline: Good working pci satacard, works great for flashing xbox 360 dvd (all). You don't even need to install the drivers.Very low price for what you get.
Pros: None I can see. I wanted this card to try to recover an old raid array installed on a mobo with a via chipset which died.
Cons: Didn't work on Vista x64, didn't work on Windows 7 x64, and that's all I have.
Other Thoughts: If it had worked, it could helped recovering data on an old raid array (whose old mobo died). The card seems not to be dead, since it cause some slow downs on the system, but installation program says it can not find the supported hardware on my system.
Bottomline: Maybe it works for Windows XP, I don't know.
Pros: Works perfectly with FreeNAS. Totally outperforms some well know brand cards based on the same chip.Build quality is good. The external port is SATA (not e-sata) that is very useful for me.Out of the box support for HDDs greater than 500GB.No boot delays(card BIOS messages not displayed)In my card, no appreciable defects where found
Cons: The docs and driver CD was a little hard to read in a standard CD drive, bud worked fine in a new DVD drive. Anyway, if you're about to use it in FreeNAS or FreeBSD the CD has no use for you.
Other Thoughts: Solved my 'interrupt storm detected on "irqXX:"; throttling interrupt source' problem on FreeNAS.
Bottomline: If you are looking to build a cheap FreeNAS server from an old motherboard without SATA support, this is the card for you. I'm really surprised with the excellent performance for the low price.
