Pros: + Very wide measuring range + The carrying case is a very useful accessory (though it is made of cheap plastic)+ Big display with big numbers (mine doesn't fail at the moment) though a backlight would be helpful+ The tripod mount is very useful+ Low price
Cons: - It comes without any instruction booklet so you cannot read the error codes when displayed- A bit cheap looking
Other Thoughts: I use it mostly for measuring the output of my flashlights and it works fine. It reads lux twice a second and has a helpful memory button. The length of the wire is ok for me.
Bottomline: An affordable luxmeter. If you need one this is a good option.
Pros: This meter is easy to use. It is well packaged, and the overall quality looks good
Cons: My problem is that on the second try, the meter lost one of the bars of the display. So I could not tell 0 from 8. I could press on the display and make it work. Since this thing is really good value, I opened it up, and found a circle marked in texta on the cct board. Pressing here solved the problem. Probably a bad cct connection or cracked board copper line. What bothers me is that this was KNOWN. This was marked as a problem.
Other Thoughts: Good idea. I am not happy that this seems to be an unfixed seconds product.
Bottomline: This is good buy. But I had bad luck in the lottery. My question is: Do DX want to know about this problem? I know I get reimbursed for returns and they will replace, but I was waiting for this baby.I am going to try to address the problem to allow me to get going, and let DX know. For $28, I can live with buying another one if my "fix" does not work.I am a bit disappointed.
Pros: - Pretty good build quality, especially considering the price.- Comes in a nice storage box.- Sensor/probe can be mounted on a tripod.- Has a great measuring range, can measure direct sunlight!
Cons: - Backlight display would have been nice.- It is a little bulky, not much though.- No english manual.- Could have had an even longer cord.
Other Thoughts: This unit has better build quality than my previous one and the probe cord is about 25% longer. It is more useable with a longer cord.
Bottomline: If you want a cheap and versatile lightmeter, this is the one to get.
Pros: seems to be very good build.comes in a nice plastic box which is not that strong(cover will brake of eventually)i use it to compare flashlights which works very welli also use it to read the amount of light in my homeworks on a 9 volt battery
Cons: sofar none.do not know how long it will last on a battery but i figure a long time
Other Thoughts: design is a matter of tasteit is a bit old style but i like itdoes wat is is supposed to do
Bottomline: for this price you absolutely have to buy it.i do not know how accurate it is but for comparing stuff it is a must have
