Pros: +As usual here, this was a cheap product.+It does the job.+Can give your ds a nice new color.
Cons: -Rough edges-Doesn't feel that well built actually, so I don't know how long this housing will last.-It doesn't come with a trigram screwdriver, so you need to buy that seperately.-Rather difficult installation process.
Other Thoughts: After 4 or 5 year the hinges broke on my (phat) ds and I needed a new housing. I choose this one and I am not (yet) sorry.
Bottomline: If you need a replacement housing, this does the job perfectly.
Pros: Cheap.Nice colour.Your DS seems new.
Cons: Rough edges in almost every small part (had to polish up the hinge for being able to open the DS without breaking it).Some screw holes are quite big, so the screws doesn't fit (just 3 screws, in diferent layers, so it still holds everything in its place).The upper screen protector came striped (the worst con).Buttons (specially the cross moving button) needs to be pushed down quite hard to work.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: If your DS housing is broken, this one does the job.But if you wanna change it just for having a new colour one or because it takes you fancy, I'd recommend to stay with the original one.
Pros: Nice bright colours, includes lots of spare screws and springs, useful for if your higne has cracked or if you just want to change the appearance of your DS. Even compatable with the official Nintendo case pieces so you can mix and match. Unbeatable price.
Cons: Plastic doesn't feel the most durable, some molding errors requiring light sanding - nothing major though.
Other Thoughts: You could even get 2 different colour cases and have an interchangable colour scheme!You might need someone experienced to help you take the DS aprt though, although there are lots of tutorials available online. Be careful with the screws!
Bottomline: Cheap and effective, could be the difference between playign your DS and leaving it to gather dust because of a broken hinge.
Pros: Great price. Makes your tired and scratch DS look like new! Comes with all the bits you need to replace the case on your DS, even screws. Pretty easy to install, just watch for those little flexible cables, and take your time.I used LCD screen cleaner on the DS screens when I had the DS apart, it helps make the DS look more like a new one when you fit the new case as you can clean the screens where you normally would have trouble getting to certain parts.
Cons: The build quality is a litle below average, at least on the casing I bought. The castings seems a bit rough here and there, but then I am pretty picky about these things.
Bottomline: Great price, a little rough in the casting here and there, but at the price what more do you want?
