Ownership verified by DX Romisen RC-K4 3~8V Versatile Cree Flashlight

Involvement: Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership: more than 1 month

Usefulness: starstarstarstarstar
Overall Rating: starstarstarstarstar

Pros: Great little light. O-rings at ev'ry joint, including the lens. Nees a little bit of grease to prevent squeeking when screwing or unscrewing. Good clicky. Can use 3 kind of batteries.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I modded this torch by dropping in SKU 11836. I had to make some mods to fit it in, but now the light's much more owerfull then it already was. Burns for about 25 minutes on CR123 rechargeables. Torch gets rather hot if burning continuously. But he, it's as bright as day with this mod. And I need to be able to blind people with it. So I'll switch batteries a little more often.

Bottomline: Good torch, with or without the SKU 11836.

Ownership verified by DX Just an Update- This Light ROCKS

Pros: Well this light does wrk great with CHARGED RCR123. Also great with 18650 and AAA. An extremely useful beam configuration- throws over 100 feet but still has nice usable spill. EXTREMELY long life on AAA rechargeables (over 2 hours runtime) Only slightly lower output on AAA (around 100 to 110 Lumen on AAA about 110 to 120 Lumen on LiIon) Glass lens and o-rings at every joint. Well built and comfy to hold.

Cons: Mine developed a nasty habit of not turning on when the head is screwed on tight- I had to loosen it just a touch. I solved this by stretching the head spring a bit (I will probably add a spacer under the head spring to solve the problem permanently.) Also a bit difficult to screw on the tailcap when using 2 cr123 batteries.

Other Thoughts: This is my second review of this light as when I first got it I had problems with the RCR123 configuration. It was a dead battery issue and not the lights fault. Just wanted to update on this. This is a very useful and bright light. Probably one of my Favorite crees so far. It is not an EDC but I do plan I getting a holster for it so I can carry it (My EDC is a Romisen RC-N3)

Bottomline: Other than a minor spacing issue this light ROcks. One of the nicest combinations of throw and spill I have ever seen. I also dropped this one night while cleaning up my astronomy equipment and the light suffered no more than a minor scratch (I dropped it onto a frozen gravel driveway from over 6 feet) Get this one!

Ownership verified by DX I REALLY like this light

Pros: Takes cr123, 18650, AAA
bright
quality is good
not glued together

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I really like this light. It is not THE brightest I have gotten but it is very good. The ability to use various batteries is nice.
The finish and quality are great.
The brightness seems the same with cr123 and AAA, I haven't put 18650 in it yet. I haven't checked runtime with AAA.

Bottomline: If you want a single mode light and have various batteries around to use this is a good choice. I may swap to a higher bin emitter just because I like to tinker, but it is a good light as is

Pros: Takes a lot of different batteries. Plenty bright enough (with AAA- see below). Good solid construction. Nice clicky feel. Useful handstrap.

Cons: mine is acting funny with CRC123s- very dim and/ or non functioning (I need to double check the voltage on them- maybe they need charging?) Also hard to screw on the tailcap with the CRC123s (the second battery hangs out half way past the light body)

Other Thoughts: THis works great on AAA, Not so much with the CRC123s. I have a few 18650s on order so hopefully those will work ok. Mine came with instructions (in Chinese). Great throw. As bright with the AAAs as my Romisen RC-N3 running CRC123

Bottomline: Romisen quality is apparent- This is almost as ig around as a C cell maglight- and about as long as a Mini Mag. I hope I can get this running on LiIon as I love the output of them.
