Pros: -> small size

-> simple layout

-> comes with a battery 

-> works with my 300D and 500D

Cons: -> 'zoom' functions are useless on these particular manual-zoom cameras, and just clutter things up. I'd rather just have shutter buttons.

-> doesn't have a lanyard, or any way to attach it to your camera or carry strap

Other Thoughts: I also have a genuine Canon RC-1. This works just as well, however the RC-1 is even smaller, and mounts to the camera carry-strap so you've always got it with you.

Bottomline: For the price, it's worth having one in the camera bag.

Pros: both the S (instant trigger) and 2S (delayed trigger) buttons work as indicated once you set the camera's shutter control to 'self-timer/remote control'. if AF is turned on on the lens, the camera will AF, then take the actual shot. can't beat this price.

Cons: none for me so far

Other Thoughts: tested the range under a rainy/gloomy weather. further i could trigger the shutter is about 12 feet. not a problem for me as i will mostly be using it for close range macro shots.

Bottomline: highly recommended!

Pros: I bought it for my Canon EOS 450D and it works like a charm. The top two buttons, which operate the shutter immediately or by a two second delay, both do the job.
 
Cons: There are some idle buttons on the remote, but that's because there is no auto-zoom on my camera. On a compact, these buttons should function as well.
 
Other Thoughts: None
 
Bottomline: It does what it's supposed to do. And the two second delay gives you time to hide it if you're gonna be on the picture. Buy it, it's way cheaper than the original and does the same job.

Works on the Canon EOS 450D/Rebel XSi camera

Pros: - Works out of the box
- Comes with battery
- Came with lots of protection from scratches.
- Tiny, fits easily in your camera bag.
- Take a shot now, or take one in 2 seconds.
 
Cons: - Not very powerful, about a 8 meter range (tested in the dark).  But this is far enough for most shots.
- Has extra buttons are for other cameras, confusing if you hand the remote to someone else.
- I wasn't able to to get the camera to shoot after, say 10 seconds.
 
Other Thoughts:  
Bottomline: Buy one more more. Very cheap. You might even be able to sell one or two at a higher price.
