Nice laser in Aixiz module

Pros: It's actually quite bright
The LD is in std. Aixiz module.
The LD can be removed and replaced by a better one (eg. bluray)
 
Cons: None, except maybe that the driver can't be used for any better LD. It's such a nice small size :)
 
Other Thoughts: Refitted some of mine with stronger Laserdiodes.
Have made a bluray driven on 140mA that lights a match in less than a second and is visible at night.
Made another one with a burning IR Laserdiode. I'm  a little scared of that one, since i need a camera to see if it's on.
 
Bottomline: Great product for DIY projects, like home-made powerful lasers and such.

Pros: I'ts really easy to focuse! The threads are small ect.
Its really bright when compared to my other red laser pointers, which probably are 1> mW lasers. 
Its a nice host for a red 50-200 mW DVD burner laser diode.
 
Cons: when you unfocus the dot into a big red circle, you can see that the "dot" is really uneven. Apart from that the build quality is exellent.
The wires could be a little longer.
Its not easy to clean. My lens caught some dust inside and it was really hard to get off.
 
Other Thoughts: Mine worked nicely out of three 1.2V AA batteries, but you should regulate the voltage somehow, at least if you switch the diode.
 
Bottomline: Its a nice laser and a nice host for better lasers ; )

Pros: Very beautiful module for DIY-projects, like building a high-power-dvd-burner-laser. just unscrew everything, remove the diode, press in a new one and here you go.
 
Cons: In my opinion there are none. Removing the old diode is a bit tricky, but who cares? Just get in there your own killer-diode!!!
 
Other Thoughts: Would be nice if Deal-Extreme offers glass lens for better performance, e.g. separate or together with the laser module.
 
Bottomline: Buy it, its perfect for 4 bucks and when you order more, you will get a nice discount.

Very nice module for any experienced person.

Pros: The usefulness of this item depends on the experience of the user.
The build quality is nice, the price is nice and the module itself is very nice.
Buy this is you are planning to mod a laser module with a blu ray diode or anything like that.
Otherwise i'd recommend a normal laser pointer.
 
Cons: the diode is not easy to remove. You will have to use a soldering iron to remove the soldering around the diode's connection points. A socket for diodes would be highly preferred, but that would probably make the module a tad bit more expensive.
 
Other Thoughts:  
Bottomline: A nice module for modding if you're into that kind of stuff.
