Pros: Good quality build with chromed casing. Has an easily focused line using a twist motion on the end cap lens. Will easily replace or use as a drop saw laser line. just check the voltage if replacing a drop saw laser. Has red and black wires approximately 13cm long and could be easily extended if needed.
Cons: The line is very long (greater than 5 metres at a 10 metre range) so if you are needing a smaller length line then you may need to blank the ends. The line forms dots at the ends. No current rating but the one i have draws approximately 30mA at 3.7V
Other Thoughts: Maybe the same in green and/or blue would be perfect.
Bottomline: An excellent product for the price
Pros: Good build quality. Nice chrome casing. The diode itself seems to be of good quality. The filter can be removed and used with other lasers which is nice!
Cons: Not as bright as I thought. No info on maximum allowed current. A bit difficult to get focused.
Other Thoughts: The textured filter that makes the dot into a line needs to be in the right angle for the line to be focused properly. It can be disconnected from the lens assembly and rotated to align with the diode's polarity.I first removed the filter and got the dot to focus. A touch of super glue to hold it in place. Then I conected the end cap while aligning the filter.
Bottomline: Does what it should, bit of a hassle to get focused correctly. Poor man's LaserComb :)

Other Thoughts: DX should give the rated current rather than voltage for these.
Bottomline: I was pleasantly surprised of the quality of the laser. Pros: - Huge built- Small- The line is brighter then I tought- It have a focusable lens that helps to put the line very thin
Cons: The main specification about Diode (Solid state laser is a kind of diode) is how much current you need to put the device ON correctly. It's important because i can calculate a resistor necessary to delivery the CURRENT at specific voltage (you can choose any voltage), so i expected current ratio in the specs of ALL diodes in DX, not the voltage.
Other Thoughts: Not at all... Nice part...
Bottomline: Buy it if you need a laser line...
