Pros: This module is an exact fit (with large outer spring removed) for the Surefire 6P. The beam color is a pure white and the beam pattern excellent for general use. I have not used it long enough to be able to rate runtime, but the electronics work very well with some very weak CR123's (the original xenon lamp is brownish in color).
Cons: None thus far.
Other Thoughts: This was my first order from DE and I have to say I am very pleased. Of two items 1 was backordered, but the one in stock shipped very promptly. I am in Europe and received this module in 8 days! Excellent.
Bottomline: DealExtreme is definitely "return to" e-tailer!
Pros: This is a great drop in light. I used this model for my SF G2 xenon light. It quickly transformed my G2 into a true thrower. At least 100 yards of true throw. I did take off the large spring for a true fit with no gap.
Cons: No cons!
Other Thoughts: I do like my 11836 better but the 6090 is a close second. The 11836 seems a little brighter and the fit is better since I didn't have to take off the large spring for it to fit.I would easily recommend this product. The drop in was packaged well and from order to receiving to less than two weeks. Not bad for an oversees order!
Bottomline: Shipping, communication, price and product quality are all strong characteristics of dealing with DX. This is my second purchase and I'm very satisfied!
Pros: Again I am impressed with DX on their "drop in" products. The 6090 is a great product.Just popped off the large spring and it fit in my SF G2 with no problem and 0 gap!Price, communication, shipping (for oversees) and quality are why I gave this product 5 stars!
Cons: Nada!Wish it was made and available in the US!
Other Thoughts: I like the 11836 R2 better but the 6090 is s close 2nd!I'm using mine with SF primaries and the light is very bright. I'm guessing 200 lumens plus. I can't waint until my 3.6 volt RCR's come in to test the light with higher voltage.
Bottomline: Bottom line...buy one! For the price and the light output you'll be blown away!
Pros: Having made this my third purchase of two units on each purchase, I still find this value for money especially for those who have not seen what the Q5 and R2 drop-in modules are like. Heat generation is also not as bad compared to the Q5 and R2 which heats up super fast. Wide input voltage range of 3V-18V makes this unit easily modifiable into any housing and for any applications.
Cons: Focus of the hotspot is not fixed as the reflector could be unscrewed causing the focal length to change hence distorting the hotspot, however this may be rectified by a little drop thread locker. In a way this might be good for those who prefer a wider beam spill instead of a small hotspot for practical uses at shorter distances.
Other Thoughts: If the manufacturer would provide the Q5 Cree with this regulator which allows usage of 3V-18V, I'd be buying that instead.
Bottomline: For now, I'd still buy this as its value for money.
