Pros: It's cute, and a fairly unique NMBC item.
Cons: It doesn't stay warm very long, nor does it get too hot. As people have said, the plug placement is poor so it can't charge when plugged in. Too big and heavy to stick in a pocket. Apparently not UL listed.
Other Thoughts: Some people were wondering if it has a battery. I don't believe it does, but that it heats up some sand inside. I plugged it into 110v and it gets warm, perhaps 220v would get warmer and be more useful.
Bottomline: I think there are many more practical ways to get your hands warm.
Pros: - Decent size, can easily wrap two hands around it (considering that my hands are quite small). - Reaches a fairly high temperature (similar to the temperature reached by desktop lamps). - Not too hot, the perfect temperature to keep yourself warm. - Perfect for acting as a replacement for the hot water bottle; as hot water bottles can get too hot and scold, and also because we're all trying to save water here in Australia!
Cons: - The plug goes into the bottom of the egg, so it can't stand while it's warming up/being kept warm. But I guess I resolved that by keeping it in my lap... - Mine had little black texta marks on it. I suppose it was to cover up a botched up paint-job; not that it matters.
Other Thoughts: - Initially, I was worried that our 240V AC system wouldn't support it and it set off the circuit breaker due to safety, but it seems to be compatible with 220V as well as 240V and the box states that there's also a 110V version; so no matter which region you're from, don't hesitate to buy! - Ideal for a Christmas gift (especially for those who celebrate it in winter), otherwise, a handy thing to have around the house.
Bottomline: For around $10, it's definitely a nifty gadget to have around the house. Warms up in a matter of minutes, and reaches higher temperatures in about 15~20. Great for keeping in your lap whilst working into the late hours of the night at the desk and functions perfectly fine despite power supply provided by your area. A great buy!
Pros: This is a large hand-warmer. If you have regular sized hands, you can't wrap one hand around it. You can warm both hands if you hold it with them. Warms in about 20 minutes and it gets pretty warm. The cord to plug it in the wall is a good length.
Cons: You can't sit it up. In other words, the adapter hole is under-neith, where you would stand it up. So when it's plugged in and getting warm, you have to lay it on it's side. The placement of the plug hole should have been in the backside so that way it can "sit up" while it's plugged into the wall warming up.
Other Thoughts: I bought two thinking I would need it for both hands. But one should be big enough to warm both hands. (See my pictures for comparison.) The price fits how big and useful it is.
Bottomline: It's a good sized hand warmer that is a bit awkward when being warmed up. I will get much use out of it.............................................
