Pros: It is a perfectly workable replacement for a mouse or touch pad, and in some situations preferable to either one.The only way to beat the price is to get the $7 model!
Cons: There are no English language instructions. (Maybe someone with some free time will post a note explaining how it functions in English.)
Other Thoughts: The first day that I had it, I thought it was a non-functioning toy. The next time I tried to use, I discovered that it actually worked. And quite well. Since I don't read or speak Chinese or Japanese, I can't use it to its full potential, and I've had to rely on trial and error to discover that the buttons on the tablet can function as mouse keys and to learn how to use the software. While (so far) it is way too slow to be efficient, I can actually use it with my PenOffice software for handwriting recognition. Just keep trying and will work.
Bottomline: I'd buy it again.
Pros: - writes smoothly- detection at different levels- autodetects written symbols- can speak written symbols in mandarin, cantonese and japanese (i think... the cantonese works fine at least)- great learning tool or dictionary - quite good as a substitute mouse when writing over laptop's keyboard...
Cons: - no good for drawing (laptop's touchpad works better... or about the same)- only 'writes' over small area of screen... (probably)-- you can probably calibrate this
Other Thoughts: -i've bought 3 of these... the first one i got was nicer the other 2 i bought afterwards have this weird looking thing under the writing area (with a windows Vista compatible sticker)-i really wish i could take out that paper thing (but i also don't want to take apart the tablet to do so)
Bottomline: -it works fine if it suits your purpose
Pros: I brought that to use like a minipad, because my hand hurts when I use the mouse for many hours. It works as a mouse, but don't so sensitive how.To use as a recognizer, the software is fine (to english), but isn't a great software. I have notice that is work in others recognition softwares, then, maybe with another software, it works better.
Cons: The software it is in chinese. You have guess the functions. Good luck!
Other Thoughts: If the reconizer pad was used for a children, really that can be usefull. Several painting softwares can be used. I loved drawed with it (even in my desktop)
Bottomline: Has a function that let you make notes without change the document, you can call it a memo layer
Pros: - The writing surface is large enough for you to write a Chinese word onto it.- Sensitivity is good when you are writing Chinese words.- It recognizes both Traditional Chinese words and Simplified Chinese words on an English Windows OS that has Simplified Chinese installed as prefer language. It also works on Simplified Chinese Windows OS.
Cons: - Installation windows are all in Simplified Chinese, so if you have a Traditional Chinese Windows OS, all the words on the installation instruction windows would become "????", which means all Simplified Chinese characters will not show during the installation.- It does not work on Tradition Chinese Windows. All the words on the menus on the application will show "????" again after installation. You will have no idea what you are clicking on unless you set your Windows to use Simplified Chinese.- Only the following 2 Operating Systems words with this product:English Microsoft Windows OS (Any Windows Version) with Simplified Chinese set as primary language.ORSimplified Microsoft Windows OS (Any Windows Version).
Other Thoughts: It would be a very nice handwriting pad if it allows Tradition Chinese Windows OS or English Windows OS (with Tradition Chinese setup) to use this product. The programmer should write the software to allow it to run under both Traditional Chinese OS and Simplified Chinese OS, not just for Simplified Chinese OS only.
Bottomline: If you are a Simplified Chinese users or you already have your PC setup with Simplified Chinese and willing to stick with Simplified Chinese on your PC as your primary language, then go ahead and buy this. Otherwise, you may want to look for a writing pad that has Tradition Chinese menu.
