Pros: This is the best priced power splitter I've been able to find even amongst Asian sources.
Cons: This device failed after a month or so as I took a hard corner and it slid off my dash onto the floor. The power cable into the case is not protected in anyway and I found that when they closed the case, they actually cut through the wires' insulation. When I took the hard corner, the power wire was tugged and the insulation was pulled back exposing the two copper wire bundles causing them to short. That's poor design as assembly should not be cutting the wires.Despite one review that says more than enough, on long trips, I've often wanted 4 or 5 plugins. I suppose I could daisy chain them, but that would load down the 1st devices fuse (see my other thoughts).
Other Thoughts: In theory I like the USB port, but in practicality I think it is the cause for the low fuse value that caused my first one to blow out the fuse in less than 5 uses. I was using all ports and the fuse blew. This last one had other issues (see cons).
Bottomline: Being a gadget guy, this is something I find very useful for my car. However, I think I'll stay away from these as the only two I bought from this site have been clunkers.
Pros: Works great with Htc Fuze and my zune Fm transmitter. easy to use not as big as i thought it might be also, it came in black which was pretty cool
Cons: None really Most of the time i only have 2 devices hooked up to this thing and the wires get easily tangled. i can imagine things getting messy when every slot is taken... but then again that isnt really a flaw of this product.
Other Thoughts: it would be nice if the power chord was detachable from the unit, just in case the chord were to break. then again, it would only cost 6 bucks to replace the whole unit...
Bottomline: this thing works great. you should definitely get one if you need the additional power sockets
Pros: Untill now seems like a good product.Very useful looks good and seem to work. The price seems decent but I do not have much comparison material.
Cons: None, but the packaging was a bit dirty and the product also. Not a big problem but it is kind of a turn off when you receive a new product that is dirty.
Other Thoughts: Product seesm to do exactly what it promisses and that for a fair price.
Bottomline: If it proves to work reliable a good buy!My sons will be very happy they can charge their DS and PSP togheter in the back of my car.
Pros: - cheap- does what it says- long enough cable
Cons: - it looks like mine does not have perfect grip with the socket - it might be better. But it is not a big deal, it is just OK, but not perfect.
Other Thoughts: if you use it to full potential (3x 12V sockets + 1 USB) you will probably have one mess of the cables under your feet. But you really cannot blame this splitter for it !Also, when abusing it to the max (charging and using 2 mobile phones, 1 GPS unit and charging and using a latop using DVD) I've managed to blow the included 5A fuse. I'm not complaining - much better than if it overloaded the car socket and blown something else in there. And replacement fuse is like few cents anyway in local electronic shop... Might be a good idea to get a few fuses in advance, just so you won't be missing your splitter on the trip.
Bottomline: Great deal, especially if you're taking some longer road trip with the car and/or you have some passengers. And it's cheap. Get one now.
