Pros: This card reader is fantastic! It's so inexpensive, but it works so well. The speeds I'm getting are pretty good. I haven't timed it, but I am not sitting around for too long waiting for my 12MP images from my camera to be transfered onto my computer.Ease of use? How much easier could it be. Just open up one end, slide your card into the reader, open up the other end, plug it into your computer. Done. It's that simple.You can also leave you SD card in the reader and carry it around with you like a USB drive. This thing is really fantastic. if you're looking for a SD card reader, this is it!
Cons: I put this reader through a lot of abuse. It's in my pocket with a lot of keys and coins. The only con is that the end that you insert your SD card into, it opens pretty easily. When it was in my pocket, it used to open and then the little pegs attaching that end cap to the reader would bend. I used to be able to bend them back, but recently they snapped off.Card reader still works perfectly. I just don't have that one end cap anymore. That's the ONLY bad thing. And seriously, I put it through some hard times. =)
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: Just a wonderful SD card reader. If you're shopping around for one, stop. Just add this one to your cart. If I ever need to buy a second card reader, I will buy another one of this.
Pros: Incredible fast, much more than my older Sandisk reader!At least at Windows XP, there's no need to install any drivers. Very good retail packing for the item, it really protects unit during transportation.
Cons: BEWARE WITH THE DOOR YOU USE TO ENTER THE CARD, IT SEEMS TO BE FRAGILE. However, it doesn't matter, unless you need to KEEP card protected inside reader. Even if it brokes, it seems to not affect functioning.
Bottomline: Cheap plastic reader, but it's not a big deal. Besides, price is amazing!!! Received an internet ad with a similar item costing about US$ 30.00 (thirty dollars)!!!
Pros: Works as it should, is fast and is extremely easy to work with, just plug in the card in the back of the reader and plug the reader in the pc. Easily hotswappable as well.
Cons: Falls apart quite easily, my own had the bottom cap off when I took it out of the package and it wouldn't fit on in any way either.
Bottomline: Good price for what you get, not the best build quality, quite mediocre actually, but it doesn't matter when it does what it should and does so in a good way.
Pros: If you are looking for a high speed (class 6), single slot, SD/SDHC/MMC reader, and built-in USB connection with end caps, then this is your best choice at one of the lowest prices
Cons: slightly wider and thicker than some other SDHC single slot readers so you may need a USB extension cable (not included)
Other Thoughts: end cap can be closed when card inserted, but dont know how long that end cap will remain functional
Bottomline: buy it if you mainly use SD/SDHC cards. very portable.
