Pros: Ok. Due to some blackouts.. I've started ordering some kinds of lamps. The solar charging was the best fit. Ok, pros: 1. I't solar charging device. I leave it on my south window and it's fully charged in a day (sunny day!) 2. It contains 3 AA NiCd accums. You san use it to charge 4 AA accums! (NiMh whatever, too) 3. I left it ON for a night. It worked 12+ hours! When I turned it off, there was a light in the LEDs, still! so i tested it well 4. Four LEDS + deflector head. oh.. it has cons.. 8( 5. You can use it in 2 modes. a/ the LIGHT head is in the box. So you can turn it on and put on some surface to light something. b/ you can pull the lever and then... AAAAH!!! the lighing head would pop out with a loud BAM sound! Now you can bend its neck and direct the light where you want...
Cons: 1. When it isn't fully charged.. the light is WEAK! I can't barely read the book. The tiny single LED keychans produce more BRIGHT LIGHT than this one 8( Even 3-LED SOLAR keychain works better// 2. the solar battery isn't straight mounted.. it's somehow... spinned. But it doesn't affec the work 8)
Other Thoughts: I'd buy it again. I love the conceptopn of solar green devices. + i fully discharged and re-charged it to prove its work.
Bottomline: Well... it's good as a nigh light.. or good for a blackout... it isn't good as any common DX lighters Buy it if you want to.

Pros: Serendipitously, this lamp arrived last Friday and yesterday, Monday, a powerful storm off the Pacific put our lights out. For 24 hours. This lamp is a delight for reading in bed, without power, and without battery guilt.
Cons: The plastic "neck" which expands seems easily snappable, so I think care in handling is needed. There are shadows among the lights as they reach the page.
Other Thoughts: Useful for standing on a solid surface as well as for laying on one's pillow, shoulder or chest.
Bottomline: So glad I ordered this, and perfect timing in delivery!
