Pros: My blue trustfire 18650 fits very well.2 Modes, High - Low. like it should be.At low its about at the same level in brightness as the Romisen RC-G2.Black.Glass lens.Nothing is glued.
Cons: Feels like my Romisen RC-G2 would be sturdier. No hole for lanyard.Reverse clicky.Cannot tail stand.Thought it would be brighter.
Other Thoughts: Hong Kong post & Itella were very fast. Got shipped 7.2 and i picked it up today (in Finland) 10.2The package was better than usual. Air pockets _with_ air!
Bottomline: It's ok.
Pros: - very bright- nice beamshot- up to 2,5 hrs light- waterproof (0,5m)- Off-Hi-Lo-Off
Cons: - not regulated but - not regulated but - not regulated but - not regulated but - not regulated but - not regulated but - not regulated but - not regulated but - not regulated but - not regulated but - not regulated but - not regulated but - not regulated but - not regulated but - not regulated but - not regulated but
Other Thoughts: pulls 1,22A on fresh, after 1,5-2h ~0,7A
Bottomline: on fresh hard to say what its brighter (XAQ5, 18-WD)
Pros: This flashlight's physical build has a solid feel, although I haven't stress tested it. It also feels reasonably balanced, for what that is worth. There are O-rings throughout, although I cannot vouch for actual water-resistance, having not tested it. The machined threads feel smooth. Runtime on the high setting with a fully charged TrustFire protected 18650 lithium 2400mAh battery (SKU #05776) is a fair two and a half to three hours before dropping off sharply, and on the low setting a decent sixteen to twenty hours before dropping off sharply. The light level is at least quite useful on either the high or low setting, but is frankly blindingly bright on the high setting. I prefer the low setting for close-up work such as in a computer case, because the high setting is just too bright. The flashlight has a nice, clean throw on either setting, although obviously it is better on the high setting. It is possible to stand this unit on its tail, although it isn't all that stable that way.
Cons: Some people dislike what they call a "reverse clicky switch", but it doesn't seem to bother me at all. Because the flashlight is direct-driven, light output does fade over time rather than stubbornly maintain a consistent level for a given setting until the battery fails. The tailcap is large and comfortable, but I cannot find a replacement for it at DealExtreme, which might or might not in the future be a problem. (The 14mm replacement tailcap size which is available appears to be much too small, after ordering a set of SKU #05742 to be certain). Nor can I find a 35mm replacement O-ring for the lens part of the flashlight. It might also be a problem finding an appropriate replacement clicky switch, as all mechanical parts do wear out eventually. I'm not certain that the centre part of the flashlight can be unscrewed, because it's pretty tight and I'm afraid to use more force on it to be certain of it one way or the other. There is no lanyard or hole for a lanyard.
Other Thoughts: DealExtreme does carry an appropriate replacement 34.8mm glass lens (SKU #10643), as needed for accidental breakages. The batch of ten I got seemed of quite good optical quality, from a brief examination. The 30mm O-ring set of twenty (SKU #05692) which I bought just in case, are considerably fatter than the original and "stick out" instead of hiding smoothly under the lens assembly (as distinct from the part of the same assembly that holds the lens itself and which requires a larger 35mm O-ring). This suggests it may be better to stretch out a much smaller O-ring for that purpose, although I've left in the fatter O-ring and it doesn't bother me at all. I think a 20mm/21mm replacement O-ring would be best for the tail portion (which exposes the battery compartment). The 23mm O-rings which I did buy seem a touch too big for that. The light flickered irritatingly until I used a few cotton swabs soaked with isopropyl rubbing alcohol to fairly thoroughly clean the threads of the tail portion of an odd black powder which may have been particle residue from the painting process.
Bottomline: If you can live with the uncertainty over replacement parts, this is a fine flashlight at a decent price. I like it a lot, and don't regret having bought it.
Pros: Great quality flashligt, had a bright throw and a bright spill. Will last about two hours with one battery on HIGH, and will last much longer on LOW, like... 8 hours maybe. It has served me in the moutains greatly, it lits anything in the mountain area, including nightbirds.
Cons: Let me see... I dont think this light has any cons. Does heat up, but, so what?
Other Thoughts: If you remove the reflector unit, you will have a big bright spill, crisp clean and VERY bright. Great for urban areas.
Bottomline: You - need - this light when going outdoor.
