Pros: It's cheap. It's small. Once you get a working one it seems to work OK both with PC and Mac.
Cons: First one I received was broken bit replaced swiftly. Second one worked but build quality awful - connectors loose, squashed etc. When opening and looking at the PCB the soldering looks iffy.
Other Thoughts: It has a cute red light. The USB cable that comes with it is rather short and thin.I need more characters. Did you know Pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism and Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis are very long English words?
Bottomline: Maybe better to spend a bit more, will check out SKU787 next.
Pros: The price is good. It's small. It's quite nice (goes nicely with my mac mini).
Cons: The build quality is not good. The first one I received did not work. After DX decided to send a replacement, I opened the case for the defective one (breaking some plastic pins, it's apparently not meant to be opened). Then I could see some poorly-done solder joints (including a short circuit between 2 pins of the main AU6254 chip)...
Other Thoughts: The replacement one works fine, so I did not attempt to open the case (I did not want to break it).The 2 items look slightly different. The defective one has a black/silver case, while the replacement one is silver only. The font of the "USB 2.0 Hi-SPEED 4 port Mini Hub" printing on the case is also different. The new one may have a better build quality.
Bottomline: It's definitely worth it's money, as long as DX replaces defective units.
Pros: Small, compact and cheap.Comes with a DC port for plugging in DC power to make it a powered hub. Not sure if the port works or not as I don't have any DC adapter to try.One USB port at the back to allow chaining without unsightly cables running all over the place and also to allow you to put a device that is not moved frequently.
Cons: USB port doesn't seem to align properly with the holes in the casing. Have to nudge the ports slightly to get the jacks in.The jacks are also spaced a little bit too closed together. And if you have a USB jack which have a slightly wider sleeve, the USB port(s) next to it becomes unusable.
Other Thoughts: Not bad for such a low priced hub. The LED light at the top could be brighter though.
Bottomline: A cheap and good hub that might not look good but it gets the job done.
Pros: Really small, doesn't look too bad and comes with a USB-A -> B adaptor cable (which is required to connect it). It's powered, but doesn't come with an adaptor.
Cons: Build quality = not good. The circuit board is 'free floating' inside the case, so it's possible to push the connectors into the hub casing and not be able to connect it properly - I did this and thought my hub was faulty until I prised the casing open.
Other Thoughts: I haven't used it for much so far, seeing as my PC has 8 USB ports already, but it's handy to have the ports wherever I need them rather than having to reach around, and the hub is so small that it fits in anywhere.
Bottomline: Don't expect shockingly amazing build quality, but for the price it's great.
