Pros: Great Product, just wanted to add that I now use it with my LG DVD-RW drive. Burning CDs and DVDs works, as does reading every other format. Haven't tried Lightscribe but I assume it works as well. Its really nice to get rid of those ugly IDE cables.

Cons: It MIGHT be burning at half the speed for 52x CDs but its possible that my drive finishes the CD before it can get to 52x. If you use it with a drive, I would suggest against using it as an OS drive, because it is only SATA I not II as far as I can tell and it may be slower (It scored low on the Vista Index Score anyways)

Other Thoughts: Hasn't failed me in almost a year

Bottomline: Get it, get a couple.

Pros: - Very cheap converter board
- Works very good with hard drives
- should work both ways
- Nice build quality and combact design
- Connects directly to your harddrive
- No more IDE cables

Cons: - It didnt work properply with my ide DVD-RW :/

Other Thoughts: Some insulating layer would be good to have in IDE connector side of PWB. So that soldering joints and components of the PWB do not cause short circuit with your motherboard's components. Check this if you connect this directly to your motherboard IDE connector (or even to your HDD).

Bottomline: Great converted for hard drives. But not for DVD/CD drives.

Ownership verified by DX Not a bad solution if you have too many ide hdds

Pros: - cheapest solution if you have lots of ide hardrives but not many ide ports on your motherboard like me
- small and doesnt overhead or anything
- doesnt make any noise
- fits perfectly in a normal ide hardrive
- same transfer speeds as a normal ide drive would do

Cons: - gotta use a floppy cable to power the unit, not a big deal since the cable came with the product but it just means you got one extra wire in your hdd bay
- looks out of place in the hdd bay

Other Thoughts: - cheap solution for those with new mb but lots of ide drives

Bottomline: get it!

Pros:
- Fits tight and neat
- Does the job
- Clears the cable mess

Cons:
- Does not work with my dvd-drive (not that I expected it)

Other Thoughts:
- It worked for me as an IDE-to-SATA chip, which is the opposite of the product title description
- Exellent to reduce the amount of cable (not cableS, because it adds one more but it's not a biggie) in your comp
- Didn't find any of these in my country (Finland)

Bottomline:
- Great price, does the job. Get one, if you need one.
