Not sure what it is but it works

Pros: Fake dirt?  I was skeptical but it seems to work fine.  After some google research it's still not clear what is in this, perhaps a peat-based mixture.  Nonetheless, it should work just fine for potting plants, especially the magic beans, tomatoes and other plans for sale on DX. 
Cons: I hope there's no lead-based ingredient in this mix, who knows.  But that could convey to the vegetables if grown in this. 
Other Thoughts: Try it - you'll get enough to start your spring plants indoors before moving them outside to your garden. 
Bottomline: Why not?
