Ownership verified by DX HDD Converter

Involvement: Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership: more than 1 month

Price: starstarstarstarstar
Ease of Use: starstarstarstar
Build Quality: starstarstarstarstar
Usefulness: starstarstarstarstar
Overall Rating: starstarstarstarstar

Pros: It works out-of-the-box.
Fits very good to the hard disk, but you may have to press a bit hard.

Cons: It does what is made for. You may find problems if you want to mount a laptop hdd into desktop PC.
It doesn't have a jumper for master-slave

Other Thoughts: You can use this to you Home Theater PC because laptops hdd's are small and noiseless. You can use it to backup your laptop's info or to move large amount of data if you have spare hdd.

Bottomline: Very cheap and useful product. Mounting can be hard if you don't want to drill additional holes in your case.

Pros: You can connect any 2.5" IDE laptop hard drive to you computer. You can use it in your media center computer because laptop HDD's are more silent thant regular 3.5" Laptop HDD's. Looks like it don't reduces speed of HDD. Build yuality is better than average.
They are so cheap. Maybe even too cheap :)

Cons: You have to be very careful with them. Double check is your cables connected properly. Otherwise you can damage your adapter easily (as I did). A little hard to remove power cable after using but it's not a very big cons.

Other Thoughts: Very cheap sollution to make you Media Center PC silent.

Bottomline: Just get few of them. You must have it in your PC equipment box

Pros: Fits well on both IDE cable, power cable and 2.5" hard disk.
This little device has saved me a lot of trouble when my external hard disk developped bad sectors when it fell down. I wasn't able to access any data off it by USB and by connecting the disk to this little adapter, I was able to recover all my data from my PC!
The build quality seems sturdy and not easily breakable.

Cons: The power socket is a bit tight to fit and remove

Other Thoughts: Cheap life-saver ;-)

Bottomline: You could use this little device to connect lots of 2.5" hard disks to your pc or just use it to recover your data as I did! As usual, DealExtreme rules for providing lots of cheap gadgets !

Pros: Fantastic thing! Good built quality! I have used it to connect HDD of my broken, old laptop to PC. Connectors are really good, soldering joints too. PCB is fine enough, made from good material. IDE cable and MOLEX fits very well in those connectors.

Cons: None. Really none! :)

Other Thoughts: If you work a lot with PCs (repair services or so), You must buy it! It is good to read a data from those small HDDs or to use these as a HDD for PCs. I think I will buy another one to my friend who repairs computer stuff. He will appreciate it!

Bottomline: Excellent bought! :)
