Pros: I bought one of these to connect a video card that had DVI output to a monitor with HDMI input. I used a DVI-DVI cable that came with the video card.
In general terms it works well, quality is 100% digital, but the installation cost me some work to function well.
The product is well built and definitely saved me money because I could use the DVI cable that I already owned.
Cons: Instead of coming a DVI-D they sent me a DVI-I adapter, so I had some problems to make it work with my video card (which has DVI-D output).
Other Thoughts: If you need a DVI-I, buy this adapter because it really is a DVI-I, and not a DVI-D as announced in the title of the item.
Bottomline:
Great and cheap

Pros: Bought this to connect my ps3 which only has hdmi out to my monitor (226bw) which only has DVI in. It works perfectly. It is built very solid. Ps3 had no trouble detecting it, neither did my monitor.
Cons: I don't know if this is a con, but it doesn't look like the one in the picture, it has a black face with 4 holes around the flat hole. It took like 3 weeks to receive.
Other Thoughts: Aside from it looking different than pictured its perfect.
Bottomline: It's cheap, works perfectly, was easy to use as well. if u need to hook up a hdmi product to a lcd monitor this is perfect.
I received a DVI-I (not DVI-D) to HDMI adapter

Pros: Good price. Fast delivery
Cons: The item I received is not what it was supposed to be: a DVI-D (24+1 pins) but rather a DVI-I (24+5 pins).
Other Thoughts: I have tried to connect my TV using any of its HDMI sockets to both a PC with a DVI-I interfase and a Portable with a DVI-D interface. I used a DVI-D male-male cable: It simply did not work with any of this devices.
However, I check that they worked properly. Either I had a problem with the cable, or with this adaptare
Bottomline: The photo and description do not correspond to what you receive. What you see on the photo is a white female interface with 24 pins on one side (3 rows of 8) and a flat pin on the other side. This corresponds to a DVI-D (Dual Link)
The unit I get had a black female interface with 4 extra pins around the flat pin, wich corresponds to a DVI-I (Dual Link). Have a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface
Great

Pros: - Gold Plated.
- Place for dvi cable screws.
- Easy to use.
- Looks great, what a building quality.
- Only 6$ against 20 bucks in my local shop.
Cons: For the price and build quality.
*************No Cons at all*************
Other Thoughts: This is too good, gold plated and everything, now i can connect my dvd homecinema to my screen and experience Full HD upscale.
Btw too difficult to write 500 characters about this.
It`s just one word that can be said for this adapter:
Superb!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bottomline: Run and grab it, to cheap.
