Pros: Cheap. Batteries is close to spec (about 1500 mah really after two "training" cycles. Compact enough to use during trips.

Cons: Charger is real battry killer. It is just 1 amp current-limited switching power supply with diode decoupling for 4 battery slots and some primitive battery presence detectors for each slot. No overcharge protection/cutoff. LEDs is just turn off when battery inserted into corresponding slot, no other functions. Instructions is chinese only. Mains terminals is US-style, useless in Europe unless you have correct adapter.

Other Thoughts: Still safe to use if you have some unit that uses 4 higher capacity Ni-MH cells and you charge them together. This "rapid" charger turns into standart overnight charger for 2500 mAh cells, as it will charge it for 14 hours. But be EXTREMELY careful if you try to charge one or two smaller cells in this charger. Most likely it will be ruined after 1-2 charges. Look for pictures I made for PCB view of charger itself.

Bottomline: If you use batteries in groups of 4 (and will charge all them at once) and can wait about 8 hours (but not much more, really, there is no overcharge protection!) - it will be still safe. Otherwise look for a more intelligent charger. I would say that it worth that I paid for - but it may kill batteries worth a much greater amount, so looks like I'll put this charger aside and will use something else.
