Involvement: Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership: less than 1 day

Price: starstarstarstarstar
Ease of Use: starstarstarstarstar
Build Quality: starstarstar
Usefulness: starstarstarstarstar
Overall Rating: starstarstarstarstar

Pros: - it reads every memory card i put in it
- it works with mac os x 10.5 leopard
- very lightweight
- portable

Cons: - made of plastic
- feels like you can break with one hand
- LED light does not blink when it's reading or writing

Other Thoughts: - price is cheap, and it works perfectly like the expensive card readers from best buy or future shop or other high end electronic retail stores

Bottomline: - you cannot wrong with this product, specially with the cheap price. it does what it suppose to do: read memory cards.

Ownership verified by DX Reads everything but has write protection issues

Pros: - It read everything I placed inside of it
- Works great with SDHC cards

Cons: This card has a big issue with write protection on my SDHC card. Every time I placed it inside of this card reader and tried to delete files, it would constantly prompt that 'Delete Failed. Write protected disk'. However, when I placed the SDHC card into my camera and used the usb cord, it deletes the files perfectly fine.

Other Thoughts:

Bottomline: It's great if you want to read and transfer files from it, but if you want to delete and move things into the card, there might be some write-protect issues. Beware!

Involvement: General (knows how to use it) - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Great little reader. Does what it suppose to do. Does not take up much space at all. Plug it when you need it and unplug when not in use.

Cons: Heats up easily, so don't keep it plugged in. The plastic case feels a bit flimsy, so do not abuse it. I does stick out quite a bit, so it's an eyesore when plugged in.

Other Thoughts: Great deal. Get it if you need to use it occasionally. Not for intense use everyday...it'll probably overheat.

Bottomline: Nice reader if you use it like once a week. Any more than that and it will probably overheat and die on you.

Ownership verified by DX Windows XP: plug/unplug 3 times, then works fine

Pros: This card reader was tricky, but i'm really satisfied with it. It works well under Windows XP when you follow this sequence: Insert, Wait for Windows XP to install stuff. Remove. Insert (2), Wait for Windows XP to install stuff. Remove. Insert(3) - now your card reader is good to go.

Cons: Did not look like it worked at first, but eventually it did work ! (see above) A little bit harder to insert the plastic connector in a USB port, but works well anyways. Does not support CompactFlash - it does not claim to support it either.

Other Thoughts: The connector is plastic. This is not a problem per say, but it's harder to push in. It won't work on the first insert. Insert it, wait, remove, 3 times under Windows XP

Bottomline: Good size multi-card reader. Good buy.
