Well, the fun is that you don't pay for the power (or batteries) used, and since usually when electricity is out phone lines still work, it will light the dark during those emergencies. In my opinion, since it costs nothing to power and its LED bulbs lasts forever, its a great night lamp for any room. Better yet, when your phone rings, the lamp flashs giving you some extra visual feedbacks. When the phone line is in use, however, the light automatically switches itself off, possibly to prevent affecting voice quality of the line.
One side note: in some occasions the lamp (switched on) seems to interfere with the caller ID feature. We are unsure of whether this applies to all phones or not.
Update: now includes an AAA battery bay (at the bottom of the unit) so you can use it either stand-alone or with a phone line.
Pros: A small little light thats lights when you need it when in the dark. I usually uses my laptop after the family has slept, so to save electricity. This little light uses usb to be lighted. In a way, it's rather more eco-friendly or so.
Cons: It's seems a little filmsy in the first place, I managed to use for only a month. Not that it's spolit, it's destroyed by the children back at home. A low price for a simple function. Then after I went to get a light with fan type during our IT fair.... as a replacement.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: Just get it!!!!!
Pros: Its bright.. its so easy to flex and point it were you wnat it..
Cons: Mine dont work with phone line prob because the cable was damaged!!but it can be powered with an old nokia charger if u want to use it alot like a lamp in ur room good idea to plug it in. its prity small thought it would be bigger.. and the base looks just like a mouse for a pc...
Other Thoughts: its very cheap and you get 4 batterys with it.. so u got one spare one for a clock or somthing..
Bottomline: if u need a small lamp for reading or whatever its a nice cheep buy!!
Pros: Well designed shape and sturdy. It's quite bright. Can run on 2 different powers, phone line and 3 x AAA.
Cons: Mine can't be run on phone line power but who cares.. I am going to run it using batteries right from the start. The runtime on 3 x AAA is about 2 hours before it becomes dim.
Other Thoughts: Actually it will be better if this product can take 3 x AA, so the runtime can be better.
Bottomline: Well it's quite useful when you are going to use the computer at night, without switching on the ceiling light in case your partner can't sleep with the ceiling light on.
Pros: As always with Deal Extream Cheap cheap cheap.Pretty bright, can be hook to your phone line or use 3 AAA battery
Cons: I was a little disappointed by the build quality mine was broken when I received it I could have RMA it but it was a easy fix.
Other Thoughts: I didn't put this in Pros nor Cons because it can be viewed as both. but when I have my light on my phone was no longer working, and my DSL to.
Bottomline: I use mine as a night light in the corridor so to stop me from knocking my little toe on my table every time And since my phone line isn't working I have peace when I sleep :P
