Pros: fast copying memorycard from my videocamera, and foto camera.... reads most used memorycards. battery holds good time and it is possible to get more battery's

Cons: flat stift powersuply 110-220v, but no worry you can charge it by the usb cable,so your computer must be with you unless you buy some flat to round adapter, or spare batteries...on long trips

Bottomline: if you like to photograph alot and want an easy way to manage photos, here is one of the better options, maybe one of those with an option to watch photos would be better, but for much higher price.

Pros: Small, removable battery, good transfer rate, easy to use, doubles as CF/SD reader, shipped complete as advertised

Cons: compact flash guide is poor/ it is possible to insert CF incorrectly and bend pins. Not weather resistant. battery cover cheaply designed

Other Thoughts: With 15 and 21 Mpixel RAW files, this is the external storage you need. Drop a 160 or 320 MB HD in place and never worry about running out of flash memory.

Bottomline: The weather proofing and flash insertion could be vastly improved. You will need a disk format program to overcome windows 32GB FAT32 limitation (swissknife was recommended and worked just fine). Reliability might be an issue, I'll check back in 3 months.

Pros: Best device I could find for this price, card reader works fine. Still no HDD installed, but IDE port seems to work fine

Cons: The device came withtout external screws - all four were missing. Can anyone give me indications on what kind of screws are those? I presume, it's self tapering, but, diameter? length?

Other Thoughts: Power adapter came as US version, not usable in EU - i need to buy an adapter. Probably I should have indicated it in the purchase order?

Bottomline: I haven't still tested all capabilities, because I could not finish the assembly. initial impression is positive, at that price you cannot expect much more (well, maybe included screws...)

Pros: - Easy to use
- Small, portable and sturdy
- Works as a card reader when plugged in
- Charges via USB or AC/DC converter
- Works with both windows and linux (when the HD was in another enclosure, formatted to NTFS, I couldnt write data in linux)
- Colour screen
- Can put any hard drive in it
- Makes folders for each download named after the card type, e.g.:
CF0001
CF0002
CF0003
SD0001
SD0002
etc. This is very useful, makes it easy to keep track. Also tells you where it's been saved on the screen.
- Is powered from ONE usb socket, I HATE these HDD enclosures that use 2, so unnecessary.

Cons: As said before, it has to be formatted to FAT32 which is both a pro and a con, I guess. Was no problem for me as I had a linux computer to format it with (if you don't, get the gparted live-CD and you will never use another partition editor again!).
All the instructions are in Chinese and it says on the box it's a SATA enclosure. It's not, which was fine for me but just be aware, the box says SATA, the enclosure is IDE.

Other Thoughts: I wish wish wish wish they made a 1.8" version of this bad boy. I have an old 20GB ipod HDD that is waiting for a home, I would love to use it as a really compact photo bank. A man can dream...

Bottomline: For the price, you will NOT find a better enclosure. The old enclosure my HDD was in cost $50 from a local computer store and does nothing more than plug in to the computer, this thing kicks ass, seriously, if you have a camera and like taking photos and hate carrying a laptop, buy it. Buy it now, you will not be disappointed!!
