Pros: -Useful compass with scale -Easy to use -Wind chill factor table on the back -Decent quality build (nice feel on plastic) -Small handheld thermometer can be useful when you don't know the temperature -Medium sized keychain -Cheap -Cute as a gift
Cons: -Falls apart after a while -The thermometer and wind chill paper fell out of the plastic casing and the liquid in the thermometer may be dangerous if broken -Thermometer doesn't work very well and isn't accurate much of the time(always seemed to stay at 70 degrees -Doesn't react quickly to changes in temperature -Compass has a hard time finding north (mine switch directions a lot if I shook it) -Easy to get cracks or scratches
Other Thoughts: Overall it was a pretty good keychain and I got the price's worth. It isn't that reliable but still useful.
Bottomline: Good, cheap keychain. Kids will be amused by it.
Pros: - Reasonably compact and light keychain with interesting features- Neat little bezel on the outside of compass- Have had it for more than five months and there are no bubbles in the compass liquid so far- Wind chill chart could come in handy someday ;)
Cons: - Uncertain about the accuracy of the thermometer- Thermometer isn't the easiest to read.- Build quality average; rough plastic edges on mine but the keychain attachment is of good quality.- Compass a bit slow and has to be perfectly flat
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: Not a serious navigation/temperature device but better than nothing. At $1.75 you really have nothing to lose by buying it.
Pros: - Compass with a rotating scale- Thermometer with Celsius and Fahrenheit markings.- Wind chill factor table- Key-chain to tie to your keys!
Cons: - Thermometer takes some time to adjust, like other cheapish thermometers.- Compass needs to be balanced to show the direction which is not useful for navigation.- Build quality is cheap.
Other Thoughts: This can be a nice gift for a child. Let him try to balance the compass to make it show the right direction, or send him to stand in the cold for ten minutes till he realizes what the temperature really is. Don't rely on this for field navigation or anything serious.
Bottomline: Overall, it has many nice functions that can be useful for kids as their next toy.
Pros: -Its good value.-Its a nice idea to combine a compass with a thermometer.-The keyring feels quite strong for a cheap product-There is an adjustable dial around the compass for setting a bearing.
Cons: -I really would not want to depend on either the compass or the thermometer. The compass is unrealiable and has difficulty finding magnetic north. The thermometer is fairly accurate (give or take five degrees) - Consider it just as a novelty product.-The compass part arrived with a hairline crack in it, wasn't worth a support ticket.-The construction is cheap and basic. The compass is supeglued on and the thermometer is held in place by a piece of card at the back of the keyring.
Bottomline: At this price its worth it for its novely value, but don't expect it to be very useful.
