Pros: When I first opened the box, the set up really made me feel confident that I made a good purchase. The casing was made of soft, but firm material lined in red velvet. The unit itself has some weight that gave me some assurance that it won't slide all over my polished wood shelf, especially with the rubber stoppers at the bottom. Oh yeah, and metal coating. Cold and strong. Kinda gives you that luxury feel...Now the important part. This box is as simple as one-two-three. Plug the out HDMI to the TV, then plug the other 5 HDMIs to the box.The small remote couldn't make life any easier. I was sick and tired of flipping 8 different AV Input channels. Just choose a number and it will get you there.Quality of video: Did not change a thing, if not looks better than just putting it directly on TV (that's probably my piece of mind talking).I am currently using it for my Direct TV Satellite Dish, and my Xbox 360. HDMI is WAY better than component or VGA on the XBOX 360.This thing is AWESOME!
Cons: There is ONE con.The plug. Now, I won't go on and complain since I luckily found a plug that would suffice. Here in America, our plugs look exactly like what's on the picture, two flat prongs. What I have received was the same except, the prongs were two sticks...?I don't feel like adressing it to Customer Service since I have a replacement. So buyers, be prepared to by a replacement AC adapter. The pin is about the size of a cordless phone base charger. It's fat on the outside and the hole is a bit wide too.My plug came from an old air mattress blower. I'm just saying that I don't know how many volts this AC adapter uses.
Other Thoughts: I bought this because I had two HDMI ports then one was damaged due to an $80 HDMI cable snagging by being so short. So being stuck with one, I didn't worry about it since the DTV is the only unit with HDMI.Replaced my XBOX and now they have an HDMI input. I was using the VGA at the time, but the pictures on my 60" Sony SXRD (1st version) shrunk 5" all around.I ain't payin $200 at Best Buy or Circuit City + $60-90 for HDMI wires.Thank you DX.
Bottomline: Get it!You will need extra HDMI wires, but DX has the best prices for these too (I have two for $9.00 each!) and the pictures are perfect!I even had my stuff in 8 days without EMS!Whew! I think I blabbed enough to meet 500
Pros: Very usefull if you got many gaming consoles or equipment that uses HDMI. Easy to use, and does not seem to lose any quality in the tranmission.
Cons: None that I can think of.
Other Thoughts: Seems to be built some time ago, before 1080p was on the market, but is prepared to handle this anyway.
Bottomline: Very good buy, such an item costs about 300 dollars here in Norway.
