Pros: Nicely presented and bigger than I expected, which helps it fit my hand. Nice press and side locking system, which I found easy to operate. Substantial, flexible cable. Instructions in English!
Cons: None really.
Other Thoughts: This is the modern Canon connector. See here for older cameras:http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8257or here for alternative brand:http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15814These would be useful switches for various homebrew gadgets. Switch case is screwed together allowing modding.
Bottomline: Good value and quality. A no brainer.
Pros: Good quality construction, well assembled. Good two stage feel to the button. Wire is supple, plug fits tight, bulb lock works easily. Exactly what a switch should be, at far less than "Canon" brand.
Cons: None? Maybe that it doesn't make coffee for me, that would be nice.
Other Thoughts: These switches are the modern day equivalent of the shutter release cable. The old cables were mechanical devices similar to the shift cable on your bicycle. A plunger on one side, a cable running through the flexible shaft, and an actuator on the other side that screwed into the shutter button, actually physically pressing the button when you pushed the plunger. Electric trigger is better... cable is more flexible, and much less chance of moving the camera when you press it. Use this for long exposures, moon photography, etc.
Bottomline: Buy three. One for you, two for your friends. They will love you even more.
Pros: Works fine. Has half-press for focus, full-press for taking a picture, and lock-down for "bulb" mode, which you really can't use properly without a remote switch.
Cons: Doesn't have quite as nice a feel as the genuine Canon item; you may find yourself taking a few pictures by accident while you get used to it. The plug is also all-plastic, not metal and plastic like the Canon one. But both plugs are all-plastic where they actually connect to the camera, so I doubt there's much real difference.
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: This sort of remote switch is really just a two-setting switch on a wire, so you lose nothing by buying a cheap knock-off like this. I bought this one to replace my genuine Canon one, which I couldn't find; needless to say I've now found the Canon one again :-). But if I really lost or broke the Canon one, I'd definitely use this cheap one instead.
Pros: One of my biggest fears has vaned after holding the remote - the cable is ULTRA flexible so the movment of the remote doesn't affect the cammera at all. half-way button works great and the depth distance between it and the full-press is definaetly noticable.the connector head is made of hard plastic (i would say ABS) securing it into it's place.Great Product
Cons: the only (yet not so bothering) thing is that the button (press button and the slider together) "dances" a bit but when you press or half press it, it does the job perfectly.
Other Thoughts: Works Great on my 40D,Yongnuo changed their Logo (from the photo @ DX) and now it look even better.
Bottomline: Enjoy Photography ...
