Ownership verified by DX Good Rechargeable CR123 Choice

Pros: Protection circuit. Not all uses provide low voltage protection, so it's good to have it integrated to keep from ruining the battery by accident. The PCB protects against shorts, something I don't think was mentioned in the description but is stated on the battery. And overcharge protection enables you to charge with special hookups inside devices, no RCR123 charger required. The PCB is supposed to last 10 years, longer than the useful life of the cell. I charged with a charger rated at 5v, 550 mA, and the battery doesn't get warm.

Cons: Protective circuit. Not much of a con and certainly better than overcharging, but charge cuts off at just over 4.0 volts (reading 4.01v a short while after PCB cutoff). Cutoff for discharge protection is a bit early, too. But I've tested cells for their discharge characteristics and the amount of juice available above 4 volts and under 3 volts is minimal. You get the most discharge time close to their rated 3.6 to 3.7 volts.
Size. Slightly bigger than my unprotected LiFePO cells. They look as long as my Panasonic CR123As, but the primaries have a recessed contact on the bottoms, so these may be .5mm longer in use. Hardly significant. The diameter is similar but there's a little extra slight bulge under the wrap on one side of these.
Metal bottoms seem to scratch rather easily.

Other Thoughts: I charged these with a cell phone charger rated at 5v, 550mA. It took 2 watts at first (as reported by a Kill-a-Watt meter), dropped to 1 watt within an hour, and when it dropped to 0 watts I knew the battery had reached cutoff voltage. I kept a close eye on it to make sure the PCB did its job. You can charge slower with a light bulb (flashlight or indicator bulb) between DC power and cell and when the bulb goes out, you know you've reached full charge. Also, the bulb would act as a buffer if the PCB failed, so don't use a big one. Works installed in devices.

Bottomline: Reliable, cost effective, and much safer than unprotected rechargeable 3.6v cells. They came with a good charge so weren't sitting around deteriorating at low voltage, thus should have long life.

Ownership verified by DX Great batteries for the price!

Pros: -Feel very sturdy
-They are protected
-They hold onto their charge for a long time.
-I like the color and the look
-Shorter than their Ultra Fire counterparts
-All came charged at ~3.85V

Cons: No cons for these. They work great.

Other Thoughts: I like these better than the Ultra Fire ones mostly because there not as bulky. I would fully charge them and report their final charge but it seems that my DSD charger was shipped broken. Its nice that DX sells these kind of batteries so cheap, you can't find any in the U.S. at this price.

Bottomline: Great batteries. Buy them!

Pros: The protected batteries come with almost a full charge. I bought 4, and they ranged from 3.7-4.0 volts straight out of the package. Batteries are slightly shorter than alkaline, non-rechargables. The positive contact is rather short and may not reach the contacts on all recharges. When used in flashlights, it may be necessary to use contact extenders or you may have to stretch the flashlights contact springs for them to work.

Cons: Nothing noted. For the price, they are decent batteries.

Other Thoughts: I haven't tested the capacity or the overcharge/discharge cutoff circuitry.

Bottomline: They work. They are inexpensive, and if their capacity is anywhere near what is advertised, then they are a good buy.
