Other Thoughts: best for small computers. almost as wide as my 12 inch laptop this thing is really good at keeping my laptop cool, but it has to be on a flat surface to work, nothing like my bed surface
Bottomline: small, works well, about twice as loud as my laptop fan but cools way better.
Pros: This is an ideal cooler for the Asus Eee 700/701. I have a 4GB. surf and find the cooler to be very efficient even in our high Greek summer temperatures - it was 38C this week! The pad could have been designed for the Asus Eee and would probably be very suitable for the 900 model. It is very light, the fans do a great job and are not too noisy even at full blast.
Cons: Along with other reviews, in my opinion, the colour is its only minus point. It would have much preferred it in white but I can live with green, rather that than PINK.
Other Thoughts: An alternative power source would have been useful but with the USB connection it is not essential.
Bottomline: This is a great accessory for my Asus Eee 701, it is sold at a great price and the service from Deal Extreme can not be faulted.
Pros: Inexpensive and offers good cooling. Both a power switch and a speed knob can be used to control it.
Cons: I have only used it on a desk, but I don't think it would be a good lap product. The bright blue light can become a bit annoying.
Other Thoughts: It sucks air down into the fan and blows it out the front slot. You would do best to not cover the fan grilles with your laptop. Just rest the computer on the little white tabs.
Bottomline: Nice product, it keeps my laptop much cooler when plugged in at my desk. I am using a 14" widescreen Dell Latitude D620 and it is fine.
Pros: This is the PERFECT cooler for the Asus Eee 4G/701 UPC. It is exactly the right width and length and is USB powered. Mine fits right on it with the air vent right over the fans. My Eee used to be quite hot but when using this there is NO heat anywhere on the case.
Cons: Funky green color but I can live with it. Would have been nicer to eliminate the blue light and put in some USB plugs.
Other Thoughts: I have looked for a couple of months for an inexpensive cooler that would actually fit the Asus Eee 4G/701. Would probably fit any of the Eee family of Ultra Portable Computers. This was a great find and good price.
Bottomline: I would recommend this to anyone with an Eee 4G because this cooler looks like it was made for this computer. Right width, length and cooling power. Just wish they had some different colors but I can live with it.
