Pros: Very portable enclosure that can be used for external HDD too.Plays DIVx nicelyPlug and play. remote control is easy to use
Cons: the first one I got did not work properly. Got the replacement and it seems to work but not sure how long :).It is still working as we speak.:)
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: This is still a good external Enclosure. Plays Divx movies. used it as the replacement of a broken DVD player. used an old 40GB drive and works fine.Customer service is excellent too. replaced the defective unit in timely manner.
Pros: This is very small hdd case, good details and play experience, good suport for vga ntsc and pal, simple change in the diferents modes.Plug and play, very simple, the remote controller is very good.
Cons: The hdd usb don´t work properly, this need the external adapter power plug for work well.In the vga mode, display a little bar on the right and bottom.The chip included don´t is the chip of the photograph, this is a sigtar 8833, is a chinese clone of the ess, and this don´t had a firmware updates.
Bottomline: This is a good hdd enclosure,small, fast and whit good player quality.
Pros: - Small- Portable- Play mpeg4 videos with B-Frames/GMC/Q-Pel/Packed Bitstream - tested up to 6000kbps- Works with one 80GB FAT32 partition (no 32MB parts needed)- Sensitive remote control
Cons: - Very bad subtile support - ugly small unreadable blue chars, only english charset- Unsupported bitmap subtitles in .divx container- I Can not switch more audio tracks in mpeg4 movie- No random/shuffle for folder/disc (tested in file mode)- They do not send power adapers for my region - there was North American one and i need European :(, but it works with another 5V power supply- No NTFS support- Only one AV cable
Other Thoughts: Not work with any LCD monitor (VGA) until swich TV mode to NTSC (60Hz is minimum refresh frequency for most LCDs)
Bottomline: Newest/better firmware somewhere?
Pros: After initial setup, it was easy to useVery simple to use (just connect to your computer and transfer the files)Video quality is great (if your original quality is great as well)No overscan and audio issues that some have with using a computer's tv-out.
Cons: Some initial difficulty to change the menus to EnglishManual isn't the greatest English, but it's understandable
Other Thoughts: Can't play HD files, but that would require something more expensive (more processing power).
Bottomline: If you have videos, music, or pictures that you want to watch on your TV (and you have a hard drive lying around) then this is what you need.
