Pros: This is a great product, with good price! Not only for macro, but you can make great stereoscopic photography!
Cons: I don't have any complains... This is a really good product...
Other Thoughts: When I brought this product, I didn't received a confirmation email, and the first thing that I thought was "I was fooled, lost my money"... but i received the product by mail (in time!), everything OK! This webshop is reliable! Thanks guys!
Bottomline: A cheap macro and stereoscopic device! This is really cool...
Pros: Relatively cheap (compared to other macro rails on the market.) Nice and sturdy. Had no problem supporting my K20D with extension tubes and 90mm macro lens, in vertical orientation, pointing straight down at the floor. 2-axis adjustment helpful for getting framing and focus correct. Rails can be separated if you want to use one independently.
Cons: There is a bit of rotational play at the mounting between the two rails, even when the screw is tightened down all the way. If you swap the rails you can avoid this, but it's not as sensible that way. Tightening down the locks works by causing some compression of the plastic bits around the rails, which causes the camera to move slightly. It's okay if you leave them tightened to a setting which keeps the camera from moving accidentally, but still allows you to adjust the position.
Other Thoughts: Works better than I expected. Was even able to adjust the position with the rails in vertical orientation, though it's not as smooth as when horizontal.
Bottomline: Doing macro photography with a tripod pretty much requires some sort of rails to avoid madness. These do the job at a (relatively) good price.
