Pros: ... the build quality seem good, and it is really cheap.
Cons: I think it is not explaine correctly, but i figure out that is only 1 way, it must works to use FROM RCA TO VGA, because it does not work the other way around, my pc does not recognize it. i am using a thinkpad with ATI graphics.
Other Thoughts: i guess i am trying to use it backwards.I havent tried it with S-Video. RCA from pc, does not work.
Bottomline: only buy it if you want to conncect your DVD or other player to a VGA monitor... it does not work to use it with your computer onto a tv.
Pros: Cable adapter allows video output from your PC/laptop to any TV with S-Video or RCA video input. Connectivity: Connector HDDB15 15-pin (M x 1) Connector S-Video mini din 4-pin (F x 1) Connector RCA Composite (F x 1)NOTE: Your VGA card must support TV out directly through VGA port function. Please consult with your VGA card's user manual for more information.
Cons: It is common to find monitors with VGA cable has pins missing. It is not a defect: although VGA connectors use a plug with 15 pins, not all are used.
Other Thoughts: None!
Bottomline: Component Video is the standard, most often used in computers for professional work - for example, activities of video editing. Its use is more common in DVD player and high definition televisions (HDTV - High-Definition Television), one of the favorites for home theater systems. This is precisely the Video Component offer excellent image quality.
Pros: Was cheap, no reason to think I can't make it work.
Cons: No support on site. Would at least like to see the pinning, even if it's a well known standard to the cogniscenti.
Other Thoughts: I'm writing this now only because the other reviews cry out for some immediate clarifying details. I bought it to link to a HD TV that has an S-video (and HDML and various RCA-plug type inputs; definately composite but also probably RGB) input but no VGA. I bought DealExtreme 10282 as well as this "20099813" and got two that looked exactly the same, and like 10282 not this one. I hooked up only the S-video connection but the neither the Toshiba nor the Sharp TV recognized the other's presence. Which is neither unexpected or particularly disappointing at this stage. Modern monitors signal both their presence, power status, and ID (for loading drivers) to their hosts and a laptop isn't going to waste power powering its external monitor interface unless it gets at least some of those signals.
Bottomline: Expect it to be a project. I did.
Pros: This would have been a perfect accessory to have if it worked . But it doesnt work with any computer or any tv in the house . Most likely diffective like 90% of stuff I bought on this site
Cons: Build Quality seems heavy duty but soldiered wrong probably. I will take it apart and try to fix it <500> 500 words500 words500 words500 words500 words500 words500 words500 words500 words500 words500 words500 words
Other Thoughts: if you can take it apart and fix it get it. Might be able to work something out
Bottomline: Most likely wont work but get it for the heck of it just to say you have something .
