Edge DS Card for NDS and NDS Lite (Supports SDHC)

Pros:

very good build quality, black cart so it does not stand out in your ds, SDHC compatible, the cheat file for this device includes a huge number of games, easy to use. moonshell interfaced with main menu.

Cons:

none that i can think of. i would have liked if it could cut/copy on the sd card strait from the ds, but that's just being picky, don't know when you'd actually use it other than moving books around or designing skins.

Bottomline:

very simple but powerful design, easy to use and understand, moonshell interface allows the playback of music and video files of the right format, and even to read books on the ds. The chip auto patches roms and home-brew, i havnt ever had to do it myself, everything iv ever tried worked, so if you like it than buy it. i recommend it,

Pros:

Works well and never had any issues with any game. It's suppose to be high quality, which it is just by comparing with the R4 and DSTT that I have/had. Mine came with the triangular case, which was a plus. Came with a card reader as well, which can read MicroSDHC cards.

Cons:

Kinda slow compared to my original R4 for load time. Price is twice as much as DSTT.

Bottomline:

If you're looking for a high quality DS card, this is it. For the money, it is as good as some of the more expensive ones out there. I can't really say if it's twice as good as a DSTT which is half the price but I'm satisfied with it.

Pros:

VERY good quality. A friend of mine bought another brand here on DX and it's felling apart. This one feels very solid and the microSD fits perfectly in it.
Fast loading and good compatibility (worked with our six games at least). I gave it to my sister almost a year ago and it still works perfectly.
Nice packaging too.

Cons:

No cons. Maybe it's often back-ordered, so beware.

Other Thoughts:

Much more practical than carrying 6-7 physical games. Please respect copyrights though, if nobody pays for their games, the developers will simply stop making them...

Pros:

This is an awesome device. It practically amped up the capabilities of my DS Lite. Have used it with a 4gb MicroSD TF card (another gr8 buy from DX) and has been working great ever since. Once it's used with the latest available software, all the features work smoothly. Has been able to work with everything thrown at it so far, including all ROMS, Homebrew, and multimedia (via Moonshell). Handles everything with no worries. And the skinning ability is really easy and cool too.

Cons:

None really. Was only slightly wider than a normal DS cart, but was not really an issue, and is not even noticeable after installing it into the DS a few times.

Other Thoughts:

Once you get this, be sure to equip it with enough memory, since you are likely to find alot of new uses for it, including your new mp3 player and picture viewer.

Bottomline:

Amazing mod cart for the price, and comes in great packaging too! but it!

Pros:

Works great. Does all it says it can do. Played everything I've tried so far. You can use Cyclods skins for it. Games boot quickly.

Cons:

Can't really call this a con but, firmware hasn't been updated in 3 months. Doesn't look like it needs one yet I guess. Everything just works. Doesn't say it works with DSi and I have no way of testing.

Other Thoughts:

The card does not stick out. Memory card does not stick out. Fits perfectly. used a 4g class4 and fits around 70-90 titles.

Bottomline:

Low price, easy setup. Works.

Pros:

- Didn't have any problem with all games I tried (about 30-40)
- Saves are stored in separate files (you can delete them if you want)
- Very fast response and load time
- Great packaging (ideal for gift!)

Cons:

- (MINOR) The micro sd card didn't "click" inside, as normal sd cards (but this is probably common in micro sd cards)

Other Thoughts:

- Just saw they added slow motion (didn't try it yet)!
- If they added real time save it would be great, too!

Bottomline:

I liked the card VERY much! I definitely recommend it! Now I will try buying the "Compact Pack".

Pros:

Loads games pretty fast cheap here compared to other websites up to $50 else where. Runs moonshell and has in built cheat list.

Cons:

long shipping (about 2 weeks) and takes a little while to figure it all out with cheats and changing skins.

its compatible with up to 16g memory card but would like faster postage and something else is when i ordered its status was waiting on supplier for ages but i got it with in 2 weeks of ordering

I think the best flashcard. All games tried work perfectly. The team has just released another firmware update (v1.44).

No one 'till now. Hoping nothing will change my first impression.

This is a DS Flashcart. If you are new to the area, you will need to do some research on how they work and the applications and games available for download. This cart I think is just like most others.
The main pro I would think of is that it was reliable and very useful. It does everything it should. There's not much more to say, it runs fast and works fine.

Cons:

No real special features or great GUI.

Other Thoughts:

This is a supercard clone, it is very similar and can use the same skins. Take this note if you are looking for skins.

Bottomline:

Compare this with other flashcarts available on Dealextreme. Personally I enjoy the Acekard 2 (AK2) the most because of its nice GUI.
This card functions great though, so if you need a card that works this will do it for you.

Pros:

* The card is compatible with everything you throw at it.
* The card is nicely packaged (in a world of crappy packaging, this made a GREAT impression on me).
* The MicroSD card insertion is NOT spring-based. The memory card justs fits snuggly, without fear of jamming the spring.
* Firmware updates are frequent (monthly or once every two months) and provide fixes for those living on the edge and trying new game releases.
* Rom loading is FAST. You don't wait more than 1 or 2 seconds for a game to load.
* No fear of getting a Fake with this card.
* The UI is nice enough to show the rom icons and their internal names which adds to the convenience of it.

Cons:

I actually have no cons.
My other experience was with a DSTT which is, in my opinion, a much less interesting product: longer loading time, less informative UI, etc...

Bottomline:

This card is great. It may be a little pricier than other options but as with everything: you get what you pay for.
In this case, you get a very reliable, fast and compatible card.

Pros:

Way back, like 4-5 years ago, i had flash linkers for the Gameboy Advance. Thats backup units, basically like this one, but back then you had to have special software and over here where i live it was quite expensive to buy these linkers. The Edge DS is a really cheap but very good backup unit. Its also very, very easy to use. Just put the firmware on the card (Micro SD), put some roms on the card, and then just put the card into the Edge cart and you're ready to go.

Cons:

The only thing i can come up with is the overall quality of the card. No spring loaded card mechanism for the Micro SD. The card does also feel a bit cheap and the sticker on it feels a bit too big and badly placed... Overall though, great card.

Great card for a great price. If you need a backup unit. get this. It supports almost anything you throw at it and supports stuff like skins etc.

The simplicity of this is in part what makes it so appealling overall. It is easy to set up, easy to use. The price cannot be beat in my opinion.

I guess based on other devices like this one you could say it is limited in what you can do with it but again I like the simplicity of this one.
There is a limit to how many games you can load on the card in that the card will only read so many games. I have not counted that the number of games that equals but for example lets say you load 100 games it may only be able to read 90 of them. The amount it reads is a LOT so it is really not that big of deal.

It is great that this will read the new sdhc cards. I have used both a 4 and 8 gig and they both worked perfectly.

This is a great item to save you a ton of money! I bought this along with sku 19039 and find it to have more than enough room for my usage.It fits in the slot very well and the memory card is snug and sits flush. I love this thing and have told all my friends. Now I need to order more for them ;-)

Pros:

I bought this card for my nephew and later I paid 5 times more money for the cyclods for myself. If I had to do it again I would save the money and buy the edge.
The edge card is a clone of the cyclods and the menus are the same and it uses the same skins. The edge card is only missing the alternative saves and in game menu that the cyclods has including real time saves and slow motion.

Cons:

I don't really have any cons, the only thing that bugged me about this card is the small view of game list shows the ".nds" extension, which doesn't matter, but is pointless and looks a bit messy.

Bottomline:

This is a great and very cheap flash card for the DS.

Pros:

The best flashcard it is a copy of the Cyclo which makes it great with compatibily of games and other homebrew firmware. It has excellent build quaility and is not held together by clips like other flashcards which makes it of really good value. Considering the price it would be the best flash card in this price range

Cons:

Currently does not work with viva pinata but would certainly work in the future with an update

You can download a browser to you DSL and surf through the www with it.
You also can install programs on it that make your DSL work line a professional calculator.
Last but not least your DSL will be your organizer.

Don't forget to order a Micro SD card! Without you can't use the EDGE card! I recommend getting a bundle ( micro SD + adapter ) so that you can download your programs to the memorycard without any problems.
And don't forget to download the OS from the producers homepage. Without it you won't have fun with this card :-)

I bought this product and as soon as it arrived the casing looked nice and cool. After setting up the files and everything i tried the edge and the gui is really nice and user friendly. Everything worked and now i can't stop using my edge card

I love everything about this and thats why I gave all the ratings except overall a 5. Overall didn't get it because nothing is perfect and things could be improved, or added that aren't present in this card, or others for that matter. It's more than worth what you pay for it though.
-first off, don't pay attention to anyone talking about the cyclo ds in comparison to this, that's idiotic and for the 60 or 80 dollars that thing cost, it better have more features. Cons:

As of software 1.42, there is a limit to how many roms/files you can load into one directory. You can get around this by splitting up your games/software into multiple folders, and this is really only relevant to people who have 100+ games, but it is still an inconvenience.
Top of micro SD card is not flush

Bottomline:

I purchased a DSTT card awhile back from dealextreme and was quite pleased with it for the price. There was one thing I didn't like however, moving through the list of files was slow, which became rather annoying when my number of files expanded. I did some research and found out that the Edge was one of a handful of cards with a snappy response time. And I have to admit, moving through the list of files is much faster. However, it is twice the price, does not have a flush micro sd card slot, and has the annoying requirement that you limit the number of files you have in any given folder.
If you're looking for a bottom line answer or comparison, I will say this. If you plan on having tons and tons of files on your card at once, then I would recommend considering the Edge. However, I would say the DSTT is of equal value (albeit, they both have slightly different strengths and weaknesses) and since it is currently half the price, I would suggest going with it. I will say though, the Edge is a fine card, and you'll most likely be happy with it if you choose to purchase it.

Pros:

* Very fast loading times
* Zero lag with slower MicroSDHC cards (once formatted with the Panasonic Formatter, or under Linux with a high cluster size)
* Flawless compatibility with everything I tested on it
* Very straightforward to use
* Well documented on the Internet
* Very customisable (the skin format is simple, but can be very effective)
* Soft-reset seemed to work very reliably
* Top-loading non-sprung MicroSD slot allows for convenient removal
* The card looks and feels (bar the MicroSD slot) more or less genuine - certainly well made

Cons:

* No groundbreaking features (Real time save, In game guide etc.)
* The DS contact pins don't have the thin plastic separators like a genuine card
* Top-loading MicroSD slot arouses suspicion in public, and could potentially subject the MicroSD to damage or removal during play

Other Thoughts:

As I've mentioned, the position of the MicroSD slot is really a neutral affair. I would personally prefer that the slot were at the side, and spring loaded, but in practial terms it matters very little.

Bottomline:

Having bought this on request as a gift for a friend with no Internet access, but a lot of DS game cards, I had a fair few days to have a play with this (to set it up, and to check that it worked fine). I was impressed, actually. Almost a shame I had to give it away. :P

Edge is the 2nd best flash card, right next to the CycloDS ( my opinion) It is more updated, so you can play future games ( such as kingdom hearts, pokemon, maybe maplestory?)

Why would there be cons on this? This is almost flawless.

I think the edge is for people who have a ltittle extra money more than an R4 who want more advantages for their flash card.

Bottomline:

Cheap on this site, 100% real, great for gifts and gaming. Arrived in the mail quicker than I thoughtt.
