Bottomline: Buen chisme
Pros: This is a good DEAL!!for a people search for somethig easy to use and work perfect runing the games in the ds lite
Cons: the first time I tried to use an extra 1 gb micro sd card and i change for 2 gb micro sd If you're a new user run the update every time but is necesary to doit, and you never charge full the Micro SD is as all,the games run to slow all the cards do it the same well good luck
Other Thoughts: ever be sure to download the last update of firmware to run it
Bottomline: the N5 run more better the games than M3 and R4 if you are ready to play get it is very well option
Pros: -the box containing the n5 cartridge was not damaged-all the games i tried, worked on the n5-Easy to download the firmware of the internet-You can press "select" to change the backround (im not sure everyone will have this)
Cons: When I took a look at the sticker, it was a little bit crooked but not by much. It doesn't really bother me. I'm not sure but when i put the micro sd card inside, i slide it in and sometimes it gets stuck
Other Thoughts: BUY IT! You will not regret it
Bottomline: If you are thinking to buy a NDS flashcard to download free games, buy the n5,it's the best.
Pros: Easy to download the latest firmware at the official websiteWorked the first time after installing all the downloaded files, plus some roms and music, onto the 4 gb kingston micro sdhcHas the ability to play music files and video files (I have used mp3 and dpg files without any problems).
Cons: I tried to use an extra 1 gb micro sd card in the same manner as the 4 gb (for more music and videos, and a couple more games), but despite reformatting, reinstalling files, etc, I could never get past the "loading" screen with this particular card. It could just be my 1 gb card itself, but other people on the internet have complained about this (with various micro sd cards). Not completely fool-proof or guaranteed to work with any or all micro sd cards, I guess. If you're a new user like me (never owned any product like this before for the DS), the user interface takes a little while to get used to (especially on how to switch to the next or previous song, fast-forward through video, etc) but at least you can use the touchscreen to select items on the screen (in addition to the d-pad and buttons)
Other Thoughts: I'm thinking of purchasing higher capacity micro sd cards for this in the future, but am not entirely certain that it will work, like the 4 gb kingston that I have right now. Granted, this product itself is inexpensive, but I don't want to waste money on micro sd cards that I can't put to use.
Bottomline: At this time, it does what I want it to do. I would recommend this product because of its affordable price, but it seems some people have luck with it and some don't.
Pros: It's cheap and works ok, I ordered a couple of N5 on the first days of January, one for me and other for my wife and both are working pretty fine, no fuse problems, all loaded ROMs works fine.perhaps this latest hardware iteration has fixed the problems reported by other users?the N5 cartridge is of good quality, the microSD stays inside the cart and the cart inserts & ejects smoothly to our nintendo DSs.It's very easy to use, we are only using it for games and the menu and game selection is very intuitive and easyfor the N5 I also purchased a couple of Kingston 4GB TF TransFlash MicroSD SDHC Memory Card (Class 4) (SKU: 11241) and the combination works fine !
Cons: Indeed the battery life of the DS gets diminished but in our case (2 NDS systems) we noticed it to get 20-30% less battery life which is good. I'm aware that since the games are read from the microSD the voltage consumption is a bit higher than with a standard DS cartridge game.
Other Thoughts: Overall it's a good and working product, does what it claims and so far there have being no issues, even the WiFi connectivity of some games (ROMs) works fine. This is a must for every NDS owner
Bottomline: So far we have not experienced any of the reported issues (like the fuse issue) and hope not having that, almost 3 weeks of using it ans do far so good. get yours !!!
Pros: Good little starter package. All you need is a microSD....... and the firmware that's readily available in the internet.
Cons: Have to download the firmware as there's no CD, but it's really easy to find and install.
Other Thoughts: Downloading means you'll have the latest firmware, but a small CD would be nice for real techno biffs.
Bottomline: Better than an M3 (because you can actually find the firmware).R4 is almost identical and if you've already got an N5 with a chip reader, buy an R4 and save a little money.
Pros: -Easy to use-Works with all of the ROMS I have tried it with- Good USB micro SD reader- Nice GUI - Price
Cons: - Not many build quality despite whats said here is actually quit good
Other Thoughts: I have bought a few different carts for the DS and I ended up coming back to this one. The reason being is because I have found this one to be the most reliable and easiest to use. I had also purchased 10 DSTT carts but have problems with games loading and two of the carts didnt work at all. I have had no problems at all with the N5 so will stick with it
Bottomline: If you want a quality flashcart that does exactly just what its supposed to then get the N5 for the price the quality is on a par with any other I have seen and ignore the blown fuse issue that problem was resolved. I have just ordered another 15 of these
Pros: Good card at a very good price. It use's the micro sd card as the memory so just load your firmware and games onto the card and away you go. Played every game i tried which is a big plus
Cons: The spring loaded micro sd card slot isnt the best. I have had trouble with one of the cards not releasing the sd card but not a big problem
Other Thoughts: I think they are doing away with the spring loaded sd slot which would make the cards alot better less to go wrong
Bottomline: Its cheap and easy to use. You can pick up a micro sd card on dx for something like $6 or $7 dollars so keeps the price down. Just buy it.
Pros: This cart uses micro SD memory allowing you to pack loads of backups onto a single unit the size of a regular DS cartridge. The size is correct for DS or DS Lite - no sticking like I've seen in other products. The press to eject mechanism for the micro memory works great. I've not have any troubles with it and in my opinion, it's loads easier to work with than the type that requires you to use a fingernail to pull it out, like the EZ Flash IV Compact Lite. It has worked without flaw on all of the ROMs I've thrown at it thus far, and the N5 team is very active in updating the load software. I keep the old versions on my computer just in case I want to revert to an older version. Works great with my 4GB SDHC, though I haven't ever packed that full of ROMs...yet.
Cons: Older software was buggy (V1.19 I think it was) and it would sometimes cause your DS to lock on the "Loading" screen. Placing the new booter files onto a freshly formatted microSD remedied that and I've not seen this happen again.
Other Thoughts: It's black which blends nicely. If it were red or something, it'd stand out too much.
Bottomline: This is a great cart at a great price, allowing you to check out titles that either aren't available or you want to demo before purchase! (I loved hacking the Deoxys Distro to use with other wondercards for Diamond/Pearl! That alone made it worth the cash spent!)
Pros: this card is pretty good, similar to the R4, work great, cheaper than the R4, i had it for month and haven't got a problem yet, n5 team update constansly
Cons: - although the quality of the flash car good, i have the problem with the spring for the the microsd, sometime you have to press hard- for some reason the cheat.dat that i update it not recognise, but good think it accept usecheat.dat as well
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: great product, cheaper price, it a clone of the R4 but work the same way as R4, it will play music, video, picture without a problem
Pros: this is so easy to use anyone can get used to it.simple and easy.my 11 year old son can use it with ease he can drag and drop all the games he wants onto the memory card and insert it into the n5 with ease
Cons: build quality could be better the slot for the micro sd is a bit flimsy.appart from that it is really cheap, easy to use and so far very reliable
Other Thoughts: i was a bit apprehensive of buying this card after all the scare stories that have been coming out about the n5 over the past few months but i have,nt had any problems so far and have just ordered 3 more taking my total to 5
Bottomline: good card easy to use cheap reliable a novice could master this card in about an hour even your kids could use it themselves
Pros: I have been using one of these with no problems for the last two months.Just download and install the firmware & you are away.
Cons: Do not be put off by the reports of fuse problems. Apart from that I cannot think of anything bad to bring up.
Other Thoughts: Build quality is good and no problems inserting into DS or inserting memory card repeatedly.Card reader is useful but I tend to use the micro sd card adaptors.
Bottomline: Reliable so much so that I have bought others for friends & family.Depending on size of roms you will get 20 to 25 on a 1 gb card.
Pros: it works perfectly with my nintendo DS, charging speed is OK and build quality could be better. It has a micro sd card reader so you can copy your downloaded games in your memory card.
Cons: you can't go back to the games menu if you are already playing. You have to buy a memory card separetly (not sold together).
Other Thoughts: Cheap and works perfectly , easy to work it out and to run it.
Bottomline: I' ve bougth two of these, one for my sister and one for me. I would buy more but right now I don't need because I don't have more nintendo Ds.
Pros: Cheap.Plays all DS games.Firmware easy to update.Works on DS and DS Lite.
Cons: At first the N5 did not work. The slot that the micro SD goes into was broken. Fortunately, the card eventually went in and now it works. The SD slot is tempermental and must be messed with to work once touched. So I avoid updating the roms on the SD. The N5 is a little to fat and just barely fits in the DS. Slow loading times and slight game delay (but only for large or fast games).
Bottomline: Overall the N5 is great and will not have too many problems. However, I would not recommend it as a gift as it will probably stop working at one point and will need to be messed with.
Pros: Worked with no problems, seemed to play games fine. Worked like a charm with the Kingston 2Gb TF that I got along with it.
Cons: Not able to take a beating. DX-reviews need to be more than 500 characters. That's more of a general con, and does not apply to this product ;)
Other Thoughts: Remember to get a memory-card too. And do keep the cart in the case when you don't use it, to keep it from breaking!
Bottomline: This is a great starter-cart. I've not had any trouble with it so far. Would definitely consider buying a new one if this one breaks.
Pros: -Works with every game-Didn't blow my DS fuse-If installed correctly easy to use-No extra flashing required-Drag and Drop-easy to use menu-cheap-affordable-ds download play ready-wifi ready
Cons: -Fuse threat-Some updates freeze at loading screen-Loading is slightly longer than other carts-Installing is somewhat difficult
Other Thoughts: -Just as good as any other cart-Makes me spend more time on my DS-Guitar hero control just came out=)-works with all games-works with homebrew
Bottomline: -Get it.
Pros: This is an amazing product. Well worth it... I've tried the DSTT and the R4 from Deal extreme. The N5 is right along up there with all the other carts. I have played a long time with no problems at all yet. Works with every game that i have tried so far.
Cons: When 1st starting it up i thought it would be easy. The newest update on the N5 site was bugged. v1.19 would crash on the loading screen but i found an older version 1.16 that fixed the problem.
Other Thoughts: This is a great cart. Works just as well as the DSTT and the R4The Blown fuse scare really got to me when I 1st got the cartridge but as far as I've seen it's either not true or it has been fixed. My Ds is still running as we speak.
Bottomline: Worth every penny.
Pros: Easy to use, just copy and paste roms or mp3/movies onto an sdmicro card, and you are ready to go!It is CHEAP, good R4 clone, regular updates of firmware. Plays every rom I've thrown at it, and does so without slowdowns of any kind.
Cons: Build quality seems somewhat lower than the R4.A little outdated on the feature side. There are better carts out there, with more features, and more options.
Other Thoughts: If you want a cheap NDS cart, this is the way to go. Best price/performance ratio of all cards.
Bottomline: Cheap, Does what it is supposed to.Cheap!!
Pros: Has been able to run any homebrew I could throw at it (DS Linux, anything DLDI compatible seems to work). It can run games too but that's not what I wanted it for.
Cons: Took me a few days to figure out the firmware isn't actually on the cart (so therefore its not really firmware). I thought I had a bad N5. I figured out you need to install the N5 software onto the SD card.I'm still a little afraid its going to crash and burn my ds lite. One big thing I noticed is the battery consumption. It went from ~20 hrs of battery life to about 3 hrs. This is probably the case with most carts. Also, not that I would use them, but the cheats are in chinese. I still haven't been able to figure out how to get them into English.
Other Thoughts: I'm a homebrew developer. It would be nice to have a homebrew cart. But since piracy is what makes these companies money, I guess I'll never get what I really want.
Bottomline: Great cart for Homebrew. Great cart for ROMs. I just hope it doesn't kill my DS.
Pros: I've yet to find anything wrong with the N5 I received from dealextreme. It works with everything I've put on it and Moonshell is a really nice MP3 player. I have not lost any save files and nothing has corrupted. I use it daily more then 4 hours usually. The Wifi games all have worked wonderfully as well. Also, the battery life with this cart hasn't been a problem. The MicroSD card reader is fast and easy to use and its build quality is about as good as they get.
Cons: None at all. I can't think of one con but the lack of support for some of the higher storage SDHC MicroSD media might be a problem for some people.
Other Thoughts: I use this with 3 Kingston 2gig MicroSD cards.
Bottomline: If you are looking for a cheap alternative to an R4 this is a good choice.
Pros: I bought this for a friend who needed something to play roms for the NDS, and this definitely was worth the buy. I bought the original r4 long time ago for myself and this is a very acceptable clone. The price is definitely worth it and the speed of the n5 is up to par with my standards.
Cons: all of these adaptors have a cheap build quality, so if little kids are playing around with this it might break very easily. It was kind of hard to put the micro sd card inside the cartridge. After taking it out and putting it in for the second time the Nintendo DS didn't read it. I took it out and tried again and it worked.
Bottomline: Great deal from deal extreme. If you don't want to spend over 40 dollars on a new game this gadget will save you a ton of money
Pros: - Like the R4 is very easy to use, the build quality is very good.- For the price you pay is the best low budget flashcart you can buy.- Awesome price.
Cons: - Have a very simple menu, not as complete as the Acekard or M3 Real.- The included card reader can be better, is a little slowly.
Other Thoughts: - I have no problems with N5.- Works very well, all games a try works perfect.
Bottomline: - One of the most easy flashcarts- Good compatibility, very easy to update and all for a awesome price.
Pros: its just like a R4 card but cheaper , can handle more gb than a r4 ,and the munus are the same as a r4 card and comes with a usb card reader (like the r4 card )
Cons: slot could be a bit better(not spring loaded ),but if your silly enough to loose your sd card then its your own fault !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Other Thoughts: its a r4 card but cheaper !!!!!!!!!!!!!its a r4 card but cheaper !!!!!!!!!!!!!its a r4 card but cheaper !!!!!!!!!!!!!its a r4 card but cheaper !!!!!!!!!!!!!its a r4 card but cheaper !!!!!!!!!!!!!its a r4 card but cheaper !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bottomline: bought it to see how good it was and to tell the truth i will be buying a lot more of these as its cheap and does the job as good as (wait for it ) a R4 card .BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY .BYE!
Pros: works perfectlyquality of cartrige is good.Interface is good. All games passed perfectly Price is the best that i have never seen. Very fast no lagging in all games. In england, the same product cost 40 euros. It's easy to use.Real USB 2.0.
Cons: quality of adapter can be better.no no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no nono no no no no no no no
Other Thoughts: I'm not sure that is support SDHC.
Bottomline: I can't test video.
Pros: great price for this little wonder supports muti player with r4 revolution as well as other n5 cards i ve bought several of these cards and havnt had any fail yet as must buy 1/2 the price of r4 cards
Cons: none none none none none none none
Other Thoughts: keep them comming at this price and ill be buying them every month for friends and family what a great toy the kids love them and they can take alot of abuse as in being taking in and out of ds and the memory card being removed ALOT
Bottomline: get them while their cheap
Pros: + Cheap+ Easy to use, drop files on memory card+ Great USB-cardreader+ Fast loading+ No lagging in games+ All games i haved tried works, (i havd tried 40-50games)+ Lightwieght, no part sticks out of the NDS+ Included passme, no extra parts needed.
Cons: - Slow downloading of firmwire.Nothing else, only goog things with this great NDS-product.
Bottomline: Buy this product! Buy 2 and give one to yuor girlfriend :-) Buy 10 and give all your friends a nice present. I payed $120 for my old supercard with seperate passme. Do not forgett to buy a microsd-memorycard!
Pros: Awesome little device for the price. Almost too easy, worked great, first try, right out of the box with the recomended software. I kinda like when a device doesnt work as it should right out of the box, forces ya to learn all you can about it to get it working properly.
Cons: Lacks build quality as others have pointed out. I would have no problem with it. But the kids..... Box was crushed upon delivery but the contents survived ok. The included card reader seems a little slow compared to my 24 in 1 but I will just use it as a dedicated 1G thumb drive now.
Other Thoughts: Makes your DS do cartwheels
Bottomline: Price,Price,Price Really great item for the price, works as advertised. Just wish I didnt have to wait 15-20 days to get it for that price.
Pros: Good thing, excelllent for DS players, good price, good quallity.Works well, easy to handle."Plug and play device" - you only have to put the memory on pc, put your games in, and connect it to your ds. After you have only to enjoy!!!+ Very nearly 100% compatibility+ The firmware is quickly updated after the R4's+ Extra features such as soft-reset, themes and cheats
Cons: Not about. But the package of N5 Revolution doesn't have a goood quallity. And my packages are openned, but worked well.
Other Thoughts: The product arrived in time. For everyone that have ds, it is a good gift, cheap and great.
Bottomline: Good gadgets. Excellent!!!
Pros: -very cheap-the same as R4-Definitly micro sdhc support till 8gb-good built quality-regular updates
Cons: -none-none, none,none,none,none,none,-none,none, none, none,none,none-none, none,none,none,none,none,-none,none, none, none,none,none-none, none,none,none,none,none,-none,none, none, none,none,none
Other Thoughts: 8gb support is not sufficient enough, in the game listing, you kan not see all the pictures, if you have more than 100 games on it. But you can see the names. This could be resolved by an update.
Bottomline: When you need a very good and cheap flash kard, then this one is the best. It does where it is ment to be.
Pros: I found the n5 to be equivalent to the r4 but at a much less price. With the price being as low as it is, this is a sure bargain.
Cons: -The build quality is cheap, must be very careful. -to put the micro sd card in it takes a little patient and you have to be gentle when talking it out because it is a little stiff-the sticker on the card wasn't placed properly but who cares
Other Thoughts: no other thoughts... but minimum of 500 words? come on lol
Bottomline: get it... with the price being what it is you can't go wrong
Pros: ABSOLOUTELY BRILLIANT ITEM OUT OF OVER 25 ORDERD NOW NOT ONE HAS FAILED ON ME JUST DOWNLOAD THE FILES DRAG AND DROP ON MICRO SD AND YOUR GOOD TO GO REALLY EASY TO USE...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Cons: NONE
Other Thoughts: NONE
Bottomline: NONE
Pros: + Good build quality other than the MicroSD slot+ Very nearly 100% compatibility+ Excellent download play support+ The firmware is quickly updated after the R4's+ Extra features such as soft-reset, themes and cheats
Cons: - Poor spring-loaded MicroSD slot- MicroSD reader corrupted my card- No MicroSDHC compatibility (freezes on loading screen)- Initial reports of high failure rate, numerous people have also reported their DS being damaged by this cart, for this reason I have downgraded the award.
Other Thoughts: DX keeps changing the prices i got it for 17.00 when its 13.00 now. I got ripped off but you are in luck.
Bottomline: In short, the N5 is an exact clone of the R4. It uses an unencrypted version of the firmware with minimal changes and from what I can tell it is just as good as the R4. The only problems I had were with the MicroSD reader which corrupted my MicroSD card (but I fixed it by formatting the card) and the spring breaking which is all-too-common in R4s. Basically, if you can't find an R4, an N5 will do exactly the same job for pretty much the same price.
Pros: N5 CARDS ARE VERY CHEAP AND EASY TO USEALL YOU NEED IS TO DOWNLOAD THE FIREWARE FROM THE N5 SITE THAT IS LISTED ON THE PACKED YOUR N5 CARD COMES IN AND THEN TRANSFER IT AND IT WILL PLAY ALL BACKUP WITH EASY AND ALL YOUR SAVES WILL BE STORED TO YOUR MEMORYCARD, JUST AS GOOD AS R4 CARDS BUT CHEAPER AND THAT NOT ON QUALITYVERY GOOD
Cons: I HAVE HAD ABOUT 12 OF THE N5 CARDSAND ONLY HAD 1 THAT WAS FAULTY,THE MEMORY CARDS CAN SOMETIMES BE HARD TO GET OUT OF THE MEMEROY CARD SLOT
Other Thoughts: A TIP IF YOU ARE GETTING A N5 CARD FOR KIDS PUT YOUR BACKUP GAMES ON THE MEMORYCARD THEN PUT TAPE OVER THE MEMORY CARD IN THE N5 CARD SAVE GOING MISSING
Bottomline: THE N5CARDS ARE CHEAP WORK VERY WELL WITH NO PROBLEMSWILL BE BUYING MORE OF HIS ITEM AS CHEAP AND GOOD QAULITY
Pros: + Very easy to use, just download archive containing the firmware and extract the contents to the root of micro sd memory card.+ Media player functionality (mp3 playing, image viewing). + Fast boot to GUI and menus are fast too, so there does not seem to be any problems with firmware.
Cons: - Card slot is OK, if feels quite fragile. So in my opinnion, it is the weakest point of the device.
Bottomline: Very cheap and easy-to-use device. I recommend to be careful with sd slot, since it feels quite fragile...
Pros: great - i dont have to carry all the other games easy drag and drop files can do homebrew files the best card ever. + its also cheap you might want to giive others this as a gift :D
Cons: i have found one fault/ the micro sd sometimes gets stuck inside the usb SOMETIMES 1/100 times though - no biggie. dont let that stop you from buying it thouhg :D it sh
Other Thoughts: awesume product! get it if you need a cheap flashcard simillar to the r4/m3 its grea quality and also it comes with a usb that transfers games+ to the micro sd card.
Bottomline: if you want a cheap r4 buy thiss! instead of buying a $80 one! xD ifs a great deal!!!!
Pros: Great card, does as it says, good quality, just drag and drop. Easy as. No complaints.
Cons: Have been spoilt by DX prices, guess the $14 is ok, but in the habit of spending under $10 on everything else at DX
Other Thoughts: I think it's a bit rough to have to write 500 words just to get feedback submitted. But if that's what we need, then, that;s what we have to do I guess...
Bottomline: Great, can't go wrong. Have 2, buying another, no sign of any blown fuses. It is a card, it is square and cardy, only bad thing is having to waffle on to get 500 words...
Pros: ENG: easy of use; quite ok build quality; OS download and installation ok; SDHC support.IT: di facile utilizzo; qualità costruttiva buona; download ed installazione del sistema semplici; supporto SDHC.
Cons: ENG: build quality could be better.IT: la qualità costruttiva potrebbe essere migliorata
Other Thoughts: none in particular.nessuna in particolare.
Bottomline: great item very usefull.SDHC support let you extend the entertainment to high level onesbuon oggetto molto utile.il supporto all'SDHC permette di elevare il livello di divertimento a livelli alti
Pros: This is a pretty smart device. It really works great. Every game works just fine. Once ther was a file d-that didn't work, but a few days later the firmware update took care of that.
Cons: Like any card that works with SD, be carrefull when you remove it from your PC. Always use the "remove safely" icon in windows.
Other Thoughts: Remember to buy also a micro SD card. Here at dealextreme very small prices for 1GB or two GB.If you want to brows the net with the NDS you also have to buy a GBA rumble card.
Bottomline: You just got to get it!!!
Pros: price while a but cheaper then the orginal R5 it still does the job, drag and drop.Have not had any issues with games just yet.nice package comes with a micro SD card reader.
Cons: the edges is nothing like R5 which is smooth card goes in and out with a bit of force.the card that came does not have the software anymore according to DX, it MUST be upgraded to the latest firmware before use.
Other Thoughts: no chance to test out the SDHC feature
Bottomline: good price, BUT if you can afford they few extra dollar still go with R5.
Pros: CHEAP! Holy crap it's cheap. If it were any cheaper they'd be giving them away! Easily comparable to the other bargain-grade DS flash cards on DX in terms of build quality (poor sticker placement) seemingly weak spring-loaded Micro SD slot, etc. But for the price and for what the software does. A nice (albeit a bit ugly) menu system, built in Moonshell compatability, and multimedia functions.
Cons: I'm not crazy about the menu system, although it's re-skinnable, which is nice. The Micro SD slot seems dangerously fragile.
Other Thoughts: It's really very hard to argue that this card is anything but worth what you pay for it.
Bottomline: My card did not burn out my DS, it has not had any problems with corrupting the SD card, and it plays everything flawlessly via the latest firmware. While I personally prefer the interface of the TTDS, I reccomend this for anybody looking for a backup card with some nice built-in multimedia features.
Pros: This is exactly like the r4 but cheaper. It comes with a built in movie player and mp3 player. Its just so easy how you can drag and drop files. I'm definitely recommending this
Cons: Actual Card heats up while playing for 20 - 30 minutes. The spring-loaded MicroSD slot, however, is bad. I haven't had the chance to use it more than 50 times and it's already not working properly... I can get the memory card to stay in by only pushing it in just until it clicks once, then letting go. If I push it all the way down it just comes straight back out again. The other thing I noticed is that the tiny screw you have to remove does nothing on my unit. I don't think it's long enough to actually reach its hole but I could be wrong because I can't see inside, but when I turn it it just keeps on turning. I'm quite sure I haven't stripped the threads in the plastic because I'm always gentle when taking apart flashcarts, but the cart holds itself together very well anyway so this shouldn't be a problem. Finally, the cart goes in and out of the DS very easily just like an authentic game card, but a small part of the label is visible when the cart is inserted.
Bottomline: Pros+ Good build quality other than the MicroSD slot+ Very nearly 100% compatibility+ Excellent download play support+ The firmware is quickly updated after the R4's+ Extra features such as soft-reset, themes and cheatsCons- Poor spring-loaded MicroSD slot- MicroSD reader corrupted my card- No MicroSDHC compatibility (freezes on loading screen)- Initial reports of high failure rate, numerous people have also reported their DS being damaged by this cart, for this reason I have downgraded the award.
Pros: This flash cart does everything that the r4 does. I have this flash cart for a week and 3 days and the rumor about a blown fuse hasn't happen to me. This is also cheap and it has built in moonshell so you can play music and view pictures. I believe this flash cart autopatches homebrew and games so no need to dldi patch games that you want to play. So far every game and homebrew I play it has worked without a problem. The speed for loading a game is quite fast and it don't lag during gameplay. Has a built in action replay and you can change your cheat files.
Cons: it doesn't spring really well in my crimson ds lite but it springs well in the pink ds.
Bottomline: Get this flash cart if you want to save money. I also have a ttds but i chose the n5 over it. ADD TO CART!
Pros: Loads everything I trow at it, drag and drop easy to use. Smart deal amazing price. I went ahead and purchasedthree more and got an additional discount.
Cons: Didn't load a couple of newest roms "Hulk" doesn't come with CD, manual or instruccions. The web site is not that helpfull
Other Thoughts: very similar to R4 device. You have to treat with care. N5DS is using pretty much the same firmware as R4 and the user interface is exactly the same. N5 is the next generation of R4 and it support High Capacity memory card up to 8GB.
Bottomline: Best price, easy to use, nice gift for anyone who has a DS. Overall cheap to start practicing on no big risk.
Pros: Relatively easy to setup just goto website that is mentioned on front of slot 1 cartridge for software - mini CD no longer includedRegular updates of software available, gone from version 16 to 19 in space of 6 monthsUses drag/drop so fast file transferRuns everything that you throw at it, buyers have commented on games that they can now play when using this instead of another type.
Cons: As a first purchase, can be daunting to setup and get best out if itBuild quality is low, all elements have to be handled with care
Bottomline: If you are unsure about using this type of device, then due to its low price this would be an ideal candidate to test the water. I personally am very happy with it.
Pros: Works great, Runs everything I throw at it. I own an M3 Simply (oldest version) and price-wise, this is a bargain compared to what I paid for M3 ($90). My M3 can't run most of the newer games anymore, so I opted to get a newer model like the N5. I wanted R4 initially, but it is not available, so settled for N5. N5 is amazing, all the games that didn't work for my old M3 works beautifully. easy access to the memory card so you can leave the N5 in the slot when copying files around.
Cons: Does not come with instructions. Took me a while to figure out how to use this. I mistakenly downloaded the chinese firmware files, and got chinese menus. Looks fragile and probably breaks easily (which is understandable for something this small), but since it's just in the slot, no problems, just leave the cart there and slide out the memory card instead.
Other Thoughts: Due to the volatile demand and supply, I guess the N5 was rushed into the market with less quality control (since it looks a bit fragile). But no problems yet. Dunno about the "fuse problem" DX is mentioning here, but I guess it's just rumours being spread so that people won't buy N5....
Bottomline: Great device, runs everything. wish it has SDHC support, but have yet to confirm if it doesn't.
Pros: * works easy.* no firmwareupdate for the NDS needed.* looks like a normal NDS modul.* very simple to install: just copy the cd-content to a micro-SD card and plug the card in the N5DS.* works with all NDS in EUR.
Cons: * quality is low: the card-holder is very hard to handle.* no microSD-card included.
Other Thoughts: * it would be nice if a microSD card was included so i can start imediatly.* if you need more quality look for a M3, it is more expansive but it is build much better.
Bottomline: * every owner of a NDS should have one.
Pros: It is a fairly cheap cart. Does exactly what it is supposed to. I so far have had no problems with the unit itself. It arrived in less than two weeks via standard mail, which was good.
Cons: Feels light compared to actual DS carts.Spring loading mechanism is a bother.
Other Thoughts: Overall it is a worth the money I paid for it. I have had no trouble from it. As for the fuse blowing problem, I wouldn't know about that. The fuse in my DS was blown by a different product and I fixed it, so I don't know if this cart would have blown my fuse as some people claim it has.
Bottomline: Nice, cheap multimedia cart for DS. Good buy for your first multimedia cart.
Pros: Easy to setup, and ROMS and media played fine
Cons: it worked for a few days, and then died at the loading screen. I checked out the MicroSD card on the computer and it need to be reformatted! I reformatted, copied the OS again, and then it worked again. However it appears to have some problems with a memory card that has worked fine with other NDS cards (Kingston Japan card).Spring loaded MicroSD slot is a bit of a painVERY cheaply madeTerrible battery life - much worse than R4 and Supercard One.
Other Thoughts: I would only recommend this card if others are sold out. Battery life is too short, and it corrupted my Kongston memory card at least one time in a week.
Bottomline: Would only recommend if the R4 or SuperCard are sold out anf you really need something fast. Hopefully they can solve battery life issues with a software update...
Pros: Once the software is installed, it's quick and easy to use. The menus are fluid, and modeled after the R4. Saving is a breeze, and is handled automatically on the card.
Cons: Like all carts, you have to download the firmware from the website (the disk it came with didn't work for me). As long as you follow the instructions, though, it shouldn't be a problem at all.
Other Thoughts: I have an M3 Real and and N5. If the M3 is sold out, or you just want to spend less, the N5 is a great card that will get the job done.
Bottomline: Get it ;-)!
Pros: The user interface is almost identical to the R4DS, so being an R4DS owner, it is very easy to adapt to this card. The setup is easy and every game I've tried so far has worked out very well on the units that worked. The included MicroSD adapter has a solid feel and is very stylish.
Cons: I purchased 5 of these units for each of my friends, however, 2 of them had problems. The shell for 1 of the units does not close properly, so the MicroSD card will get stuck and you have to force it out. In addition, the card almost has to be forced into the open slot. The second N5DS just gets stuck on the Loading... screen. Really a low quality clone of the R4DS.
Bottomline: The N5DS card is a good replacement card for the R4DS if you get a working one. However, for this price, I would go with the DSTT instead.
Pros: As well as turning you nds/nds lite into a mp3 player it also plays games. Serports Wi-Fi gaming, Wireless link between two nds/nds lites.Card sits nicerly into slot one.
Cons: Held together by a singel tiny screw so you have to be carfull. You will have to get a microsd/transflash card to get it to work.Microsd/transflash card slot on the top of the card would have been better on side of card then you wouldent be sceared of loosing it.
Other Thoughts: i would not recomend this for kids under 7yo due to the tiny screw holding it together if you want one for your kids that are under 7yo i think SKU3315 would be better.
Bottomline: Get one you can save a lot of money with a card like this.
Pros: Software included. Great price. Does the job as other cards.case to put your card into has a space for your micro sd.
Cons: Housing is not good quality opens ups if not very careful. .n5 website not well made I could have made a better one.
Other Thoughts: I have had many different Nds Cards from R4,supercard,n5,edge,cyclops,etc. my rating is on the bottomlineThis card is Spring loaded if you like that
Bottomline: Great card for the price. Fragile though,Would not recommend for young kids. I would have to rate the card from 1 thru 10 a 6. and the OS a 7 .
Pros: This card works great! All of my games worked fine. I am very pleased.
Cons: It is not an extremely sturdy cart. You don't want to step on it, or be too rough while removing the SD card. It has a spring for removal, but it doesn't work too well. The kernal is compressed using RAR format.
Other Thoughts: I would get this cart if you are like me and don't want to have to carry all of your games with you everywhere you go.N5 should post their kernals in both zip and rar format.
Bottomline: This is a great replacement for a stack of games. This devise works great, and I haven't had any problems with it to date.
Pros: The card is easy to use and works like a charm. I read in one of these reviews that you have to format your micro sd card to FAT32. Because my card would not work after dragging en dropping the software (without the word document) on the micro sd card, I formatted it to FAT32, and it worked! Not all the games I have work on this card, but I think that's a problem with the games itselve, not with the card. It runs, games, homebrew and ds linux, I am really happy with it!
Cons: The micro sd card has to be put into a card reader, each time I do that I am afraid of damaging the tiny card... Also the battery life of your ds is lesser than normal. But I think it's still ok and acceptable.
Other Thoughts: The packaging is cheap. It had a disc with the software (not the latest, so I used the software of the site, which was quite slow). I think it would be better and usefull to have more information in the packaging, although the word-document helps :)
Bottomline: Great card! Because all the other cards were sold out all the time I chose this one, and untill now I do not regret it!
Pros: the n5 ds is bad it can support things like the r4 can the menu is just like the r4 it also comes with a disc that the r4 doesnt come with any more the price is good the card is not hard to use u just have to drag and drop files in
Cons: the package is not that good the card looks cheaply madeit takes time for menu to load kills the ds battery doent support hc micro
Other Thoughts: the n5 ds could be a lot betterif it can support hc and the loading time was faster
Bottomline: the n5 is ok but i wouldnt use it if u are still starting to use cards
Pros: Works pretty much like every other card on the market. Plays all the gamesLoads FastDecent InterfaceLooks like it's the best price around for these sorts of things nowadays
Cons: Kind of cheaply madeGot a little jammed in the DS slotA very close clone to the R4 Not sure how long they'll get away with ripping off R4 as much as they are right now
Bottomline: Pretty much this was the only slot-1 available right now, so there wasn't much of a choice in terms of whether it was the one to get. Got it and it worked well. It was a little finnicky when loading the firmware. Also some of the stickers weren't applied very well so two of the cartridges I got sort of slide out slowely, another actually got completely jammed. I had to cut back the sticker a little in order to make it work a little better than before. All in all it works, and is cheap, but get a DSTT or an R4 if you can find one for the same price.
Pros: Takes micro sd cards, would be easy to use as just like R4
Cons: Very bad build cards open easily, not good firmware support, cards stop at loading screen Do not take more than 2gb memory card
Other Thoughts: I have to say that I am disappointed in this card as I thought that it would be an alternative to the hard to get R4. The support website is hard to access and downloads take a very long time.
Bottomline: I think I will stay away from these as I would rather pay a bit more and get something that is not so unreliable. out of 9 carts 3 don't work. very disappointing for the children I have bought these for.
