Bottomline: Great fun! It's best used outdoors in the evening or night, to point at distant objects. You can point at the sky and the stars! The dot shines brightly on faraway objects, in fact, it's a bit too bright for indoor use.

Pros: I had a 50mw same build before. This is 4 times as strong so about. (So if that was 30mw, then this is about 120mw.)
The beam is visible in a lighted room, but not in sunshine. Burns grey plastic (I uploaded video and pics).
Maybe this is a new build, but button is not loose (unlike on my 50mw).

Cons: If you look at the point from close, then it is not the best feeling for the eyes. Buying safety goggles would be a good idea.
A big con is the low temperature range for operation. The instruction says 20-35 Celsius. You might use it below, if you warm it up. I could not try it on higher temperatures, but they say then the beam is split and output is weak.

Pros: This laser is amazing! I really shouldn't have got it, because i'm not a very responsible person. (i don't wear special glasses and i tend to point it at things i shouldn't) It's fun to use at night, it has a great wide beam, i mostly use it for work and goofing off, during the day i can point out to my employees where i need something moved or built, without effort. And at night i have mock lightsaber battles.

Cons: My ordered two; one for me and another for my friend, my laser worked fine, but the button sticked and the lens was off and distorted, so i sent mine back for replacement. My lasers were not very powerful when i first got them, but after i used them for a few days, they got much more powerful.

Other Thoughts: I recommend buying the New Energizer E2 Rechargeable batteries for it, they work great. I also like the fact that the laser came in a "gift box" so there is no worry of the button getting pressed by accident when not in use. Pros: The reason I decided to purchase this laser pointer was, in honesty, because of its price. I had never seen a green laser pointer rated at a maximum output of 200mW and for $120US.
I have performed quick initial laboratory tests, such a measured power, coherence length (for potential holography), and iodine and laser dyes test (for laser pumping) just to get a feeling of this quality and potential applications of this laser.
The measured power starts at 190-195mW and remained around this power for about 2-5 minutes and then start collapsing to less than 50mW until the battery dies. The initial tests indicate that this drop is not related to the battery (although they are being drained at a considerable rate by the IR laser (I estimate it is around 1W or higher) but due to the overheating of the crystal array. Some people have reported that their lasers will “split” into 2 or more beams, that is an indication of the crystals are overheating. However, once mine was back at room temperature and with freshly recharged batteries, the laser repeated again the initial output and drop.
Although this behavior is acceptable for popping balloons, burning tape or black plastic and quite impressive pointing at the night sky, it is not for my projects and I wanted to make sure so…
The next test I made was the coherence length to see if I it would be capable of being used to do holograms. The quick initial test shows a good length of about 9cm, good enough to do contact or hologram of small objects.
The final tests was in fluorescence, this where this laser outshined, I was able to get emission from iodine vapor at room temperature and room pressure. I got a beautiful and breathtaking intensive yellow emission which indicates that under better conditions and arrangement this laser pointer could be used induce a yellow laser emitter! Yeah! So, as the final tests I used a couple of laser dyes I have, they emitted as expected indicating that I may be able to use this laser pointer as laser pumped dye laser and have a whole spectrum of emission bands!
There is a lot more tests to do but so far, the initial ones showed that this is a great deal for these types of applications with great potentials.

Cons: There is just one con I found on this laser, that is the overheating of the crystal array when use continuously. The good thing is that it returns to normal once it cools down. I would consider a design problem which can be fixed by having a better contact with the barrel as a heat exchanger. Since at this point do not want to dissembled to see how it is inside, I cannot comment on the feasibility of this fix.

Other Thoughts: I really like this laser pointer and I am also quite eager to see if DealExtreme would be willing to carry blue or violet lasers to used them to do laser pumping.

Bottomline: The bottom line for the uses I am planing, is that this a great deal!

Pros: Can burn plastic, dark paper, etc. Decent beam divergence. Stable with Duracell batteries. Balanced and looks nice. Comes in a nice padded case.

Cons: Relies heavily on IR to burn. Does not put out 200mw of green. Lacks IR filter, so IR splatter can damage your eyes. Lacks FDA safety features and class approval (But hey, it is cheap!)

Other Thoughts: Needs better support under the PCB to prevent flexing when you push the button. Takes about three weeks to get to your door after you order. Be sure to remove the batteries from the unit when you put it back in the carry case. If it comes on, it can start a fire.

Bottomline: If you are getting this, you aren't getting it for pointing, so divergence is moot. Good introductory burning laser. Lack of safety features, power, and IR make it unsafe to use, so exercise EXTREME caution when using. Will burn through dark cellophane instantly. Lights matches, pops balloons, stings skin (Especially if you hit a freckle)

Pros: great little laser, it is verry bright and takes two aaa cells and also works with rechargables, you can see the beam, and it burns matches and cuts black plastic, its great

Cons: build quality could be better, but then they would have to bump the price up way highter

Other Thoughts: i poped several balloons from 11.5 feet (3.5 Meters or so) lite a match from 4 feet away and after playing for a while it is hard to see becouse the dot is so bright. try not to stare at it. took about a month for me to get mine after ordering it.

Bottomline: if you looking to buy a powerful laser to have a little fun this is the one to go with. just with DX sold 300mw or 350mw lasers. maybe someday.

Pros: Powerful. Enough to sting the skin, easily light matches and get smoke from anything dark.
Usefull to point things in full daylight too, even in a sunny day. A great tool :)

Cons: Poor divergence (thin beam, but it's an advantage for the burning capabilities at short distance), beam quality could be improved, and mine behaves odd when it warms (after 30s to 1 minute, depending on the ambient temperature) : the mode changes and I get 2 beams ! The button doesn't work sometimes.

Other Thoughts: I run mine with NiMH batteries, measured the nominal current around 550mA and 700mA with full charged batteries. I have a 200mW 532nm laser from Viasho, and this pointer has the same burning capabilities, sounds the real power isn't so far from the specs.

Bottomline: Worth the money. I wish Dealextreme propose higher powered models soon :D

Furthest I've been able to verify the rang is 2.5 miles when i got someone else to look at the dot on a building looking across the bay and the dot was about 2ft wide! Apparently it should go much further....

Cons: The build quality isn't exactly amazing, the buttons can be loose or wobbly, threads need some sort of lube, I have also had one where the harder you push the button, the more powerful it gets...luck of the draw I suppose.

Cons: These lasers are manufactured by a company called Newwish. Tested, and only outputting 60mw for a 200mw laser. Not burning balloons, poor IR filter. Cheap switch, eats up batteries easily. If you really want to get 200mw you would have to buy lithium cell batteries to get it to 200mw for like 5 seconds.

Other than that, these are really really cool.

Other Thoughts: Don't even think about shining it at someone. You can buy some IR filters that easy to install google them. Bottomline: When using caution these can be pretty fun. This is an amazing deal though, and I would get another.

Pros: very bright! the beam is visible in a lit up room. beam is very bright in the dark.
melts black colored films made my black wallet smoke

Cons: scares my dog

Other Thoughts: heavy and well made
no cheap plastic

Bottomline: it is just a toy but a really kool toy
