+ works with a lot of TV sets, tried numerous times and it never failed
+ small and easy to use

Cons:

- poor build quality. One came apart almost instantly after use (but I repaired it), the other did not work at all. After disassembly, found a soldering defect on the board and lots of unwashed flux. Also repaired it.
- the button pad is glued to the plastic case, can fall apart very quickly.

Other Thoughts:

A cool item, nice to have one, but poorly built.

Bottomline:

Buy one if you really need it or if you are not afraid of its poor build quality.

Super small and really easy to use. Programming it is a one button deal. It works on a lot of different television sets and makes for a good and useful keychain. It's also really cheap, I mean the batteries are probably more expensive than the remote.

Cons:

It does not work on all television sets but that's all right. The faceplate might start peeling off after some time too.

Bring it to the local sports bar during the Superbowl.

Buy one or 10 and keep them all over the living room. Glue one to your chair even. That way you won't need to keep on looking for the remote.

Has no LED in order to know if if it's working. You see nothing at all.
th battery has no indication to know how to insert it. I has to look inside the circuit to know how to do it.
The battery seems to be low of power (at least, low voltage) when I received it
At this moment, I haven't been able to make it work in any TV or device.

Bottomline:

I ordered another remote at same time. The other model is even smaller, had a LED to know if it's working, and I controlled a TV in few seconds. This another one is useless to me.
I do recommend to choose another remote, instead of this one.

It can be used either as a prank device or for home-use. I have tried it in several restaurants and it's cool. It's also effective through thick glass as I have experienced walking on the street and turning on and off the screens of shops and such.

Great for a birthday gift or something, it will cost you next to nothing, but it's very original as a present and the same thing cost 5 times more in a local shop, atleast in my case.

Excelent, excelent, excelent. I first bought one of this ones and i was surprised, very good quallity and functional. If you hold the "mute" buton press some time, the remote will "learn" the frecuence of most tvs on the market and remember it for the future.
Excelente, al principio compre uno y me sorprendio muchisimo. Si apretas "muta" podes configurar el control para funcionar con casi cualquier TV.

I bought 20 of this and i give them to some customers! Its a very nice gadget to use when traveling and when not at home! I can control bars/lobbys TVs and i can see what i want.

Pros:

It might sounds strange, but the biggest pro of this remote control is, that it actually works – and it works pretty well, on 99% of TV sets (I think it has issues only with some of the newest). Of course it has only the most necessary buttons, but it is enough. The item is small, thin, and can be used as a keychain indeed (I personally, carry it arround in my wallet). The buttons are responsive, and far apart enough so you do not press the wrong button by accident. And last but not least, the surface does not get dirty much, and when yes – it can be cleaned easily.

Cons:

I do not think there are any, maybe the range could be even longer – but I do not think anybody can expect from such a small (but working) RC.

Other Thoughts:

Maybe it is only me, but I would appretiate more colours, other than grey or black :)

I strongly recommend a buy. I have great fun with it every time I go to a hypermarket (and turn all TV sets off). And of course, it works also at home.

A wonderful thing for your money. Such small -and knows so much tv. So far refused to work on the old tv - funay. On the other works fine. Controls the volume, channel, muffle the sound of all work. Moreover, at a respectful distance.

Worked on every single tv i've tried, lcd and tube devices, several brands.
Perfect device to prank someone you're visiting or to annoy people watching important events on public places (football finals, world cup, the olympics).

Cons:

It gives itself away the minute you take it from your pocket.
Not a nice range, you gotta be fairly close to the tv in order to get the sinc.
The sinc process is a little bit difficult and sometimes takes too long.

It definitely should be more discreet and it would be awesome if it's range was wider.

It's worthy if you have enough time to sinc and not so many people around you to realize what you're doing.

It Works! It is very very small. Nice to have it because with the TDT the old and huges TV remotes are useless.

-Perfectly controls my TV (Panasonic)
-Very easy to set-up
-Very effective range. Works from longer distance and from a wider angle than the original remote

Just small issues:
-Replacing the battery could be better. You need your nails to open the battery holder.
-Not possible to turn ON some TVs (the remote emits the Infra codes not so frequently, and some TV models need fast repeat of signals in order to turn ON.) Anyway, all other functions works as it should.
-The instruction guide printed in the "user manual" is wrong. See more in the "Other Thoughts" field.

Other Thoughts:

The instruction guide provided with the gadget is wrong. It tells that I have to press the Mute button for 5 seconds and the automatic search starts, and when I see some effect (the TV mutes) I have to press quickly the Mute button again. However it was not working for me (I was waiting for about 5 minutes but nothing happened).
The RIGHT INSTRUCTION is the following:
1. Press continuously the Mute button, and when the TV mutes, release the Mute button.
2. Check that all button does what it should do. If yes, then you are done. If not then continue with the previous step (for me the 3rd "hit" was the winning one, so don't give up).

Bottomline:

A must have gadget! Even if you have the original remote still you need it. If your kid hides the remote controller and the TV is left ON with a terrible music channel, you will need it.
Also take it to your pub, and set the volume as you want :-)

really nice and cheap thing to do the trick with your tv! just hold mute button until its starting to control your tv ;) first, my samsung was hacked easilly, and the same waves was on other samsung lcd tv's so you dont need to reset this thing again :) lg requires reset again.

from 3 remote controler no one work .with europeens televisor ( japanese to ?).i need add that no where this gadget are certified to work with europeans televisors but at this day i will think that all the televisors are china made (like many other apparels ).

Pros:

It can control every TV I have tried! I went to a consumer electronics store and started playing around with the TVs. Switched it off/on, and volume controls all worked fine. Didn't want to change channels in case I couldn't change them back.
Range is also pretty decent. I could use it from 3m away at least. It uses 2 IR LEDs in the front and so should give quite a far range although I haven't tested.

Cons:

Quality looks on the cheap side, but hey, it's ok for use and works fine.
Can't find a way to disassemble it. I wanted to rewire the LEDs in front to a high power one so I can control my neighbour's TV from across the road, but it doesn't look quite possible to do so.
Battery is difficult to take out to replace. Need quite a bit of force there.
Scanning to get the correct frequency can take some time... (like up to 30secs)

Other Thoughts:

It's not a good replacement for your own remote controls since it only has basic functions, and takes some time to scan through.
It's great if you hate adverts that play very loudly in the mall (just mute or turn them off), or want to hear a movie trailer at those TV stores (raise volume), or just use it for fun/pranks/etc.
It's small enough to fit on your keychain so that makes it something you can take with you everywhere you go!

Great little gadget that can be used anywhere to annoy people! It's small, compact, easy-to-use, and works whit most TV's (except older ones (more at cons)). That small gadget is user friendly and the battery keeps long. It's a perfect gift or even to use it by yourself. Pretty funny to turn TV's off in the electronics shop :)

Cons:

It's a nice thing, but doesn't always work whit older TV's, and if it does connect to them, it sometimes does something different (f.e.: the channel up button is tv settings). For the rest it works well and it's pretty good.
