Pros: - sst-50 led, bright hotspot and large spill without artefacts;
- decent build quality;
- good heatsink;
- it looks great and has a nice wrist strap. :)
Cons: - LED is underdriven;
- unusable memory.
Other Thoughts: it is no so bright as expected from sst-50, just a bit brighter than ssc p7 on 2.5A with better throw. measured current on tailcap - 1.32A/0.5A/0.1A (hi/mid/low), so i think there is only 2-2.5A on LED and it is underdriven. becomes warm after 5 mins. looks like the driver has got a new mosfet - phd55n03lt, so now it's more reliable. i will try to increase current or find better driver. memory is unusable - it starts on next mode if powered off for less than 3 minutes.
Bottomline: well built flashlight but still need a good driver.

Pros: Flashlight is very bright, but not have about 1200lm; Good building quality of body;
Cons: Driver is very bad quality. Flashlight was die, till its 5 minutes run on maximum modes, because MOSFET transistor on driver not have heat sink. Specification is wrong. It's deceit of consumers. Device is no have 1200lm and not working in maximum mode more, than 5-10 minutes, then die.
Other Thoughts: You can make direct drive LED connection, but on your own responsable.
Bottomline: If you not understanding electronic - its not reccomend for you. Your flashlight must die in shot time.

Pros: Arrived in the usual popped bubbles... Somewhat massiv material, you may name it "tactic"... ;-) After "rebuilding" the flashlight, everything works fine... You are able to blind the theft, before killing him whith this one...
Cons: Out of the box everything is rattling... Esp. the bin! Rebuilding whith use of thermal grease and silicon grease solves the problems. Not more than 600 Lumens, Fenix TK40 is nearly the same, but with better spill...
Other Thoughts: This is SST-50... But there should be more to come from this LED. More current, more output...
Bottomline: Nice flashlight. But for the moment, it´s to expensiv. By one of the better P7-flashlights and get nearly the same amount of light for half the price...

Pros: Generally well built, solid, massive light with significant heft.
Very bright--don't know about the 1250 lumens but it is brighter than anything else I've seen in an LED light.
Nice throw with good flood as well.
Cons: Threads do not represent the best machining I've seen, but are good quality.
Orings are nicely placed and of good quality.
Other Thoughts: Has the look and feel of a DBS v3 with an extension tube, but is heavier, has a larger crown diameter, and yep, it's brighter.
The beam has a very slight greenish tint.
I sure would like to try it out with 4 CR 123a's instead of two 18650's, since the specs say it will take 18 volts, but I'm resisting until I can find out why the specs just list two 18650's as the batteries to use.
Bottomline: Couldn't resist buying it and glad I didn't. Pricey, but considering you can shell out a lot more money to get a lot less light, I have to rate it as yet another Deal Extreme.

Pros: low and med mode are very useful for all needs. high mode is VERY BRIGHT! light type is a typical thrower with a big spot and a big flood too. very good heat management after tuning the windings with diamond thermal grease ;-)
Cons: a little bit to big to have it always near by.
Other Thoughts: perfect for using as bycicle light. on the pictures the color seems to be grey. mine came in olive-green. this is a cool feature for me because i like olive-green much more than grey.
Bottomline: maybe it has only 712 lumen at high instead of 1250 as discussed but this is not worth mentioning because i think there is no need for more light in any circumstances.

Pros: VERY BRIGHT, noticeably brighter than my p7 light, the medium mode on this flashlight is as bright as the full power of the p7. The quality is much better than my p7 light. This light does not get hot like the p7. The batteries last much longer so far. The switch is better quality, and feels better than many of the lights Ive seen. The anodizing is good quality. Threads, double O-rings, switch, feel, and fit/finish are of high quality.
Cons: The 5 modes are too much for this light, give me low, medium, high, and strobe, drop the useless SOS. Have the memory work better to go back to the last mode, and quicker, not waiting 2 minutes.
Other Thoughts: Those who said theirs wasnt as bright as expected, or was as bright as a p7 must have had bad examples. This light was definitely worth its price and then some.
Bottomline: If you want the brightest LED flashlight you can buy, especially one that you can carry around, and built tough, looks good, get this one.

Pros: The light is of reasonable quality.
Cons: This light is not as bright as expected.
There is no smooth reflector available.
It has too many modes. Dont need strobe and SOS. Just high and low would be better.
There are no driver boards available to drive this light at anything close to its full potential.
Has to be off for 2+ minutes before it turns on at previous setting.
Other Thoughts: Mine is only drawing 1.6A from fully charged 2 x 18650. Most likely only 2.8A at LED. Maybe they are using P7 drivers??
I might try to direct drive once the current driver dies. I expect it will sometime soon.
Bottomline: Not real impressed. It is an expensive 700lm light.

Good torch - annoying 5-modes

Pros: Nice Flashlight, bought it because of the positive revievs.
And it IS bright, but since it is only a SST-50 chip inside there is a LOT of space to the top!
Cons: The 5-Mode is annoying for my needs. I only need a flash to be ON or OFF. May someone tell me what the SOS or strobe mode is for...
The LOW and MID setting is useful to expand batterie life. If you are in a room and this one is too bright, have a smaller one...
If DX would stock ONE flashlight with the SOS mode, the customers in need of this mode could buy it.
But it´s hard to find one without these nasty features.
Other Thoughts: If I would have to design a topseller flashlight it would have to have:
- the SST-50 (or bigger) chip
- also a 2-mode version of it on DX ^^
- seals to make it waterproof
- different batterie configurations in one light (e.g. 1*18650 and 2*18650) just by taking off the extensions
In this light I found most of my ideas.
Only the 5-mode-nasty-crap bothers me.
Bottomline: A light you can recommend to your pal!
If he wants to be enlightend.
It´s hard to find a better one (in 02/2010)!
It´s good for hunting (after the shot!!! ^^ ).
It´s a musthave on your boat.
It´s a musthave in your car.
I carry mine around all day :-)

Pros: EXTREMELY BRIGHT
Rugged design,
feels strong,
anodization seems 'tough',
5-mode has neat features...the medium and low settings are essential to using in a dark room without blinding yourself.
did I mention A SMALL SUN LIVES INSIDE THIS FLASHLIGHT. AMAZINGLY BRIGHT.
Cons: You need the assault crown attached if you want the glass to stay in.
The weight feels kind of funny - top/front heavy given the small size of the handle and large heatsink/head.
5/mode can be a bit annoying, easy to switch modes when you aren't expecting
Other Thoughts: Wow. I can't comment on the numbers, current draw, etc, but I can tell you this is not a 'little' brighter than my other flashlights...it is a LOT brighter than my other flashlights. You must see it to believe it!
Bottomline: I have never seen anything this bright in a handheld. When my projector (video) bulb dies I intend to buy another one of these to replace the bulb - its THAT bright.

Pros: Well Built, came with a hole at the tail cap switch to enable user to add a Wrist strap. Other than this nothing special.
Cons: Not as bright as a 900 Lumen Ultrafire that I own. Slightly longer, think is due to the design of the reflector.
The Wrist strap prvider is a not so good comparing paying a price for a US$73 flash light.
Other Thoughts: I bought this as Mfg claim is 1200 lumen. I think a 900 Lumen are almost on par with the brightness. Should prvide a better wirst strap.
Bottomline: Well design, but do not feel worth he price as there are a lot of similar flash light at 900 lumen had almost same brightness.

Pros: Made of high quality material, heavy, bright as hell, the med mode is as bright as my Trustfire P7 in high, bright enough to take the price tag, it's a SST-50!
Cons: Scratched easily, heavy, too heavy that is, only the head is heavier than the body with two 18650 batteries together, sharp bezel, over 1 pound alltogether.
Other Thoughts: HAven't tested the runtime yet, hope it can run over 1.5 hour.
Bottomline: Great light, brighter than the old P7s, if the p7 can make 900 lumens than this ones claimed 1250 lumens might be real, kuz as I said the med mode on this one is as bright as high on the p7. If you want to get the brightest light available at DX, you've found it! Just buy it...I'm loving mine ;)
