Just-Works 480p Component AV Cable for Wii

Pros:

- Gives you a significant improvement in picture quality compared to the standard composite cable. On my 32" FHD LCD TV text is much crisper and colours are much more vivid.
- The price is unbeatable.
- The quality seems to be just fine.

Cons:

I needed to separate the audio and video connectors by quite a distance as the video went into my TV and the audio went into my amplifier, and this wasn't possible because there's a plastic "collar" about 6 inches from the connectors that prevents the individual wires from splitting apart. This isn't a major problem though, I just got a 1m extension and it worked a charm.
- Its unclear at first glance which red plug is audio and which is video, but you can easily tell from the positioning of each strand in the ribbon as the 2 audio connecters are adjacent to each other.

Other Thoughts:

This is a fantastic product, there's really no reason not to get it for your Wii.

- Remember to go to Wii Settings from the main Wii menu to change the screen configuration to 480p, as the Wii will not do this automatically.

Pros:

Had problems with the standard cable (red, white and yellow) on my 55" LED TV. Game was slagging (the video and audio were slower than my actions with the controller)
Ever since i installed this cable everything works well. And the image improved a lot.

Good price. Works like a charm.

The two red plugs look alike. But just look at the other reviews on this product to see which one is which ;)

Good build quality, when i've seen the price, i was worried about the build quality, but now, after using it since a couple of months, i didn't noticed any problem.

The usual con : two sames red wires, it's not really a con, because they are 2 red wires one all the components cables.

It is also very cheap... with something like this you don't need to spend your money in original cables...

It doens't change very much the image... although you can see a litte upgrade in the image and sound quality.
The extention of the cable could be larger... but it has a reasonable extention...

Everything you need from one component cable for Wii. Great build quality, everything in its place, and what's most important, it improves picture. Not much, but improves it. Some people say that it’s better to be white, but this line of gray color is much, much better, same color as the original Nintendo’s cable.

Cons:

There's nothing like that. Seriously, i can’t see anything that can highlight cons with this dealextreme product.

You will not be dissapointed if you buy this cable, guaranteed. Price is something that caracterizes this cable, for this amount of money, you can’t find better and more functional piece of wires. Other cables that cost 20$ or more, just stupid money taking deals. This is bullseye.

Great cable, works perfectly, a must have for playing games at full clarity, huge improvement for emulators and regular wii games.

Two red cables as others have said is confusing. This could be improved but I expect this keeps the cost down.

It (just) works!
Video quality is much better then with the original cable, so im very happy with this product.

Cons:

the color for the right audio channel and the red video channel is of course the same. The less intelligent might confuse the two. It's easy to figure it out by following the order the cables are in (left audio is next to right audio). Not a real con (for me). A little label o.i.d. to separate the audio and video connectors might be nice for the non tech wii users...

Incredible for the price. It's what a was searching for.
I have a monitor with no TV intrance. Only hdmi, YUV and VGA plug. And I wanted to plug the wii console.
It definitely works very fine. No size problem when you plug it. It's also long enough.

Cons:

nothing to say expect for the 2 red plug. One for left audio chanel and the other red for red YUV.

The picture quality is a bit improved but it wasn't the purpose of my purchase. Use (EDTV/HDTV) parameters.

~ Brazilian users, buy it away, no taxing here in RJ. I bought this with other things in a total of $15 and it came straight to my house. If you are anywhere in the brazilian territory a 1 month await is mandatory though. It always takes at least a month to arrive.

The price, OMG it's very cheap!!!
And it works exactly as the original one, Although I didn't notice a big enhancement in the video quality, of course that this is not in the account of the cable, but the video quality of the Wii itself. In spite of that, you will surely notice an enhancement in the video, specially on games with dark scenarios like Zelda Twilight Princess. Indeed you will see more vivid colors and a better contrast as well.

connected this cable to my 42" lcd tv, it picked up 576i in 16:9 resolution.
picture is much clearer than the RCA's that came with it

If you have a normal crt TV I would not recommend it since it only works with LCD TVs.

The first time I turned the wii on, and went to the menu, the change was obvious.
Just a tip is that to make sure to go to the wii setting and change the video mode to EDTV/HDTV (last option) for the best quality.

It works perfectly. There are a lot of difference bettwen using the RCA cable to use this cable in my Panansonic TV. With RCA cable the images were blury with some strange efects in white lines and with color mixering. With this RBG cable, all problems dissapeared and the image quality is a lot better. The Panasonic TV now recognize the image signal (480i, 480p, 512i)
Funciona muy bien. Hay una gran diferencia entre el cable RCA y este cable RGB en mi televisor Panasonic. Con el cable RCA la imagen se mostraba muy difusa y había algunos efectos extraños en las lineas blancas y los colores se mezclaban. Al usar este cable RGB desparecieron estos problemas. Ademas ahora mi tele (Panasonic) es capaz de reconocer la señal de video (480i, 480p, 512i).

I recommend set the Wii to the special mode for this kind of cable (EDTV/HDTV) it uses 480p resolution. The image quality is better.

I bought this because I find some games on the Wii simply unplayable. I actually had to stop playing Zelda:TP because I was sick of squinting in the dark, overly post-processed environments. I didn't enjoy Okami for the same reason -- albeit not so bad.
So the first thing I did when I plugged this thing in was test in Zelda:TP. Except the difference was already clean on the Wii home screen! On Zelda is looks fantastic.
I actually took some photos that I will post up later, but they really don't do it justice (plus the interesting ones within Zelda didn't come out too good due to camera stabilisation issues); you have to see this thing for real to believe it. Most notable is how much crisper the text and edges are.
This is the first component cable for any device that I've ever used, and I will be sure to hunt down component cables for my other, older consoles.

Bottomline:

This is a dirt cheap upgrade to your Wii. There is absolutely no reason not to get it -- even if you're a sceptic or only expect a very minor improvement, it's well worth the cash.

Worked with my Australian Wii without any problems.

Cons:

Potentially a little confusing having the same looking red plug for both audio and video but you just have to be careful when plugging things in.
Like all deal extreme purchases, it can take a couple of weeks or more to arrive so you don't want to be in a hurry or at least plan well in advance.

Maybe it's my eyes but I think the increase in picture quality is only marginal. The difference between composite and component is not quite as stark as the difference between standard definition and high definition.

I have a 52" HDTV, and my Wii games didn't look too sharp on it. This cable makes them look much better. The difference was noticeable the first time I saw the Wii main menu screen with my new cable. It makes my Gamecube games look better as well, even those that don't support 480p. If you have a medium or small-sized SDTV, though, the difference might not be as noticeable, but if you're not satisfied with how your Wii games look, why not try it? It's only a few bucks!

Everybody who owns a WII should have one. I've ordered severall of theese for my friends, they all share my opinion on this. Of course it doesn't magically transforms the Wii into a FullHD console, but that wasn't expected...

The Wii isn't an HD console, so don't expect miracles from this cable. While it will give you a brighter and sharper picture, there is a trade off. I would say that it definitely improves Mario-type games with fairly simple graphics and bright colours. On the other hand, I found that some games with really detailed graphics looked better with the original composite cables. The increased pixelation created a bit of an eyesore in these cases.

Should you buy this if you have a Wii? Sure, for the price, I'd recommend it if you mainly play stuff like Brawl or any Mario game. Expect brighter colours and a bit more sharpness to your images. Just don't expect a miracle.

It makes the picture slightly better. For instance, the picture was a little more colorful and sharper.

I did what I was supposed to do and changed it to 480p in the Wii settings but the picture quality still looks poor to me. This cable does not improve the picture quality very much at all. The video outputted on my television still lags quite a bit. The picture seems to have a little bit of static even though I have no cables or any other electronic device that could interfere with it.

I personally would buy another cable due to the cons listed. I know the first party cable is expensive but I would say that it is worth it. I bet that deal extreme probably has a better cable on here that would be a better investment too.

This video cable is excellent and to me looks identical on screen as the actual proper nintendo version component auidio/visual cable, it costs a fraction of the price too! Absolute bargain and highly recommended..

There arre no cons, apart from maybe the two red cables maybe easy to mix up but that is nothing to worry about and easily fixed.

The build quality of the cable is excellent, if your TV supports component then get this cable right away, it will improve the visual quality of your Nintendo Wii! Dont forget to go into the settings on the Wii to change the sittings to support HD!

A little difficult to distinguish the two red plugs, the one for audio and the one for video. take care of the order of the plugs, the two audio are consecutive then the three video plugs. the red one next to the white one is for audio.
